After attending tonights Lil Jaycees T-ball games I am amazed how much parents complain about things (whether one little boy is talking to their kid or something of the nature). Last time I checked a three or four year olds attention span is not held for very long and it is awful to complain about these kinds of things loud enough for an entire bench of people to hear. How sad it is starting already - come on they are just kids and those comments should be kept to yourself. It's about fun and games, not competition.

That is a sad thing to teach toddlers (3-4 yr olds). Kids lose their innocence younger and younger all the time. What kind of parents want to do that to their children?

Todd Mertes - like him or not, he does more to promote Auburn Youth Recreation sports than you can even begin to imagine.

There is a whole group of adults who do alot to promote Auburn Youth Recreation sports. It is called the Auburn City Recreation Committee. These individuals volunteer alot of their personal time along with their own money to ensure the programs are where they need to be and the youth in Auburn have something to do.

Why in the world would a 3-year-old be playing in competetive sports in the first place? Is everyone just nuts, or what????

its not supposed to be competitive, they only keep score for fun......the reason they play is to basically learn the game and have some fun......to bad the parents have to blow it all

A three-year-old does not have the cognitive ability nor the physical ability to learn a game like that. Six or seven, yes, but certainly not at age three. Give these poor little children a break...

Bascially it is to get the kids together. The each get a chance to bat twice and the teach them to run the bases. The kids all get a chance to get the ball too after it is hit. It's fun for them usually and they get to run off some energy. The Jaycees work hard to make it fun. At 5 they can start playing city rec I think it is and I am not sure they even keep a score then.
