Sad Deal, My Condolences to all involved.
I still think there needs to be a Stop Light there, It is a very busy Intersection, Also the speed limit on South Randall needs to be reduced, A lot of new activity on South Randall makes it very dangerous, Also there is not any street lights from south 11th street to south 20th,
The road from the railroad tracks to 20th is very narrow for all the traffic it has and too many people are speeding. I think the City should take a serious look at this dangerous stretch of road. If people would bring this up to thier City Commisioner, maybe it would help.
No the cops and courts need to do their job when drunk drivers are driving around!!! Stop light wouldn't have stopped him!!!! She died by the hands of the people she took care of!!!!

I agree a light still probably would not have prevented this tradegy due to a driver intoxicated, But i do travel through that intersection a few times a day and i do see people that do not stop or pay any attention to a stop sign there, I have witnessed several near accidents.
I do think there is a need to reduce the speed limit in that area due to people driving to fast and not noticing that there is a STOP Sign there.
I also believe some street lights would benefit some issues.
I am only commenting in ths disscusion to try and help preventing future accidents in this busy area.

God Bless All Involved.

The person is being charged with manslaughter. Bad thing is the person is already on a 2 year deferred for same offense in Custer county. I hope they rot in jail!

This is ridiculous. I know a loser that's on his 3rd DUI and they've done absolutely nothing to him. He should be in jail for awhile before he kills someone too.

I am glad that someone else agrees there should be a stop light and a speed reduction on Randall. I live close to that intersection and I have to go through it everyday. People are always running that stop sign. There have been many wrecks there lately. It is scary. Another thing for people to consider is, once they pass that stop sign going south, that doesn't mean speed up. People drive 60 and 70 mph by my house and they don't think about the children and pets in that area. Elk City PD and Fire Dept are bad about speeding there too. It is still a residential area. 70 mph by the time you reach the overpass is WAY TO FAST!!!

Every one saying there needs to be a trafice light there no no no get it straight there is no reason for a trafice light to be there, the stop sign says stop not drink and drive and you dont have to stop you have the right away,it amazes me that when a tragic thing like this happens that some has to say something like the city needs to do this the city needs to do that dont drink and drive and you wont have to kill some one lesson learned i hope every one looks at this and changes there way of frinking and driveing, thats why the pepole in the taxi where in there they didnt want to drink and drive it was a great choice for them and end up getting hit by a drunk driver life is not fair

Yes it is a tragedy that an innocent woman lost her life doing something she enjoyed doing. Life is cruel sometimes. My condolences to her family.

I am by no means defending the drunk that ran the stop sign, he should pay for what has happened. I wonder how people know about his history?
People keep saying the city should put an intersection light there. People, sober & drunk, run red lights every day as easily as they run stop signs.

We hear every day about drunk drivers. The law is too lenient with them. How many innocent people must lose their lives? Perhaps that is some

Perhaps the local (southwest Oklahoma) judges should not be so lenient! Perhaps ruling on drunk driving constitutes a conflict of interest!

I agree with the light idea. Even a blinking light would have alerted the drunk driver that there was a stop ahead. By the time the driver got there he prob barely saw the stop sign. A blinking light may have saved a life here.
