Have heard several rumors that a casino was going to be built near Elk City. Haven't heard anything lately. Does anyone have any up to date info?

According to my information, a casino will be built north of Elk City and closer to Hammon than Elk. Am reasonably sure this is accurate since it would be an ideal location.

HAMMON, Okla.(AP)— The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes are ready to start construction on what will be the tribes' fifth casino.

Tribal officials will attend the groundbreaking Wednesday morning for a casino in Hammon, located in Roger Mills County in far western Oklahoma. The ceremony will be held at the Hammon Community Center.

The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes already operate four casinos — the Lucky Star Casinos in Concho and Clinton and the Feather Warrior Casinos in Watonga and Canton.
