I want to get into mma and I know a little brazilian jujitsu. I think boxing would probably help me to get better with my hands. I visited your page and WOW, you got some skills dude! I want to learn to hit a speed bag like that. What are the prices for classes cause I want to probably do maybe 3 a week or something.

Uh oh, looks like somebody has self-confidence issues and has to get online and taunt others to feel like a big man because he can't do it face to face. I bet you watch the UFC and think that, if you watch enough of it and maybe try to copy their moves, that makes you a bad a$$.

I bet you are one of those d0uche bags who walks around wearing a Tapout shirt and thinks that he is going to be the next world champion cage fighter. Tell you what, why don't you go to wherever that guy gives lessons and challenge him to a fight. I bet you wouldn't have the balls.

Elk - Are you aware of the incredible innovation called "the mute button" that is conveniently available on all Youtube videos?

I'm sorry that his taste in music is not as refined as yours. I'm sure that a music connoisseur such as yourself would have much preferred something like "Soulja Boy" or some some other modern masterpiece. Please forgive him for his musical faux pas.

On another note, I'm sure the video wasn't actually meant to showcase music from the 80s. It was an instructional video. So, having said that, can you give an intelligent assesment of its instructional value? I'm guessing not.

I thought this was a site where adults come to make intelligent conversation. I didn't realize that immature prepubescent children freaquented this site.

Jeff, I wouldn't worry about what either one of those guys has to say. They're just trolls. I usually just ignore those types.

Josh - Boxing will absolutely help you to be better with your hands for MMA. In my opinion, there is no better art to learn for developing knockout power and hand speed.

Want to know - A typical class consists of warming up by jumping rope for one or two rounds followed by a round of shadowboxing. This is usually followed by a few minutes of introducing a new technique. Then, on to some focus mitt work for about four rounds. After that, it's on to the speed bag and heavy bag for a couple of rounds each. The workout is concluded with a round of jumping rope and a round of shadowboxing to cool down followed by a full body stretching routine.

If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

how much does it cost? do you need your own mitts mouthpiece and wraps? if you get a team assembled i used to train with george t from lawton he might be able to help get some matches unless you already know some people. he loves training people and helping out. you could also get a tournament going down there im sure he usually has about 5 guys he trains at once. very good teacher.

Lonnie - Right now I only give private one-on-one lessons. I charge 20 d0llars for one session a week, 35 for twice a week and 45 for three times a week. Sessions are an hour long. All the equipment is provided by me (wraps, gloves, etc).

Mouthpieces and headgear are not necessary because Superior Health and Fitness doesn't have a ring so that we can spar. However, I'm currently training an amateur boxer right now and we plan on travelling to another gym, perhaps Pacman Boxing in Woodward or Bear's Den in Carnegie, to get some sparring sessions in. I didn't know about the one in Lawton. Maybe I'll have to give them a call as well.

Most of my clients are people who are just looking to get a good workout that is enjoyable, so the lack of sparring is not an issue. Someone I know is about to open a boxing/MMA gym here in Elk that will have a ring and an MMA cage. It's a good possibility that I'll be able to give my lessons there. I would love to eventually get a team assembled. Thanks for the info.

that is if your guys didnt mind taking a beating. i would spar with george for 5 rounds and he offered me 50 bucks if i could hit him one clean time in the face... never did. his head looked like it was a mile away and he could still get any shot in

The Comanche Boy looks like a first-rate fighter. I would love to go a few rounds with him just to say that I did. I may give Grady Brewer a call.

How long did you train as a boxer Lonnie?
