I don't recall Kristen Webb working at the Nazarene day care. How long was she there? Is it possible she just lied on her ap?

I have Grandchildren at both the hospital day care and at Pitter Patters. You can only use the hospital daycare if you work in the medical field or at the hospital. However, Season at Pitter Patters runs a well staffed and very clean center.
I have both dropped off and picked up the kids and they are never alone. The baby room is also well stocked with all the baby needs. No Sharing anything

I took my little girl to buttons and bows. It was ok at first but I would stop in unexpectedly and would see the older kids (this was in the summer) running in and out of the younger kids rooms, and sometimes there wasnt even a teacher in the room! I stoped in once and they were having a "random" DHS evaluation or whatever you call it and I was shocked at the difference! You could totally tell that they knew someone was comming. My daughter was also getting bullied on by one of the employees older kids. She got hit and bit a few times. Once she was bit so hard that you could see the teeth marks for two weeks. The last day she was there I came in early to pick her up and the teacher wasnt in the room... and neither was my daughter. So I waited for the teacher to come out of the kitchen and she goes into the room and calls out my daughters name. Well ofcorse shes not in there! So she walks around the corner and sees me and says "OH I didnt see you in here I just saw your car, I didnt see (daughters name) but I guess you got her already." and I said "No... you dont know where my little girl is?" she was like uumm well uh er maybe she went to the bathroom... Luckly she was in the bathroom but OMG how can you not know where my 3 year old went!?! I was so pissed! I was already planning on taking her out so that was the last straw. I will NEVER put my daughter in day care again.

Noah's Ark Daycare on North Washington is a great daycare! They have daily lessons and the kids get lots of one on one attention. All of the ladies are background checked (as are all dhs daycares)and it is ran by good christian people:)

well we tried pitter patter and after 3 weeks removed our children. yes the center was clean, but bullying was a huge issue, too may children in one room with only one teacher, no information of how the day was bc at the end of the day, all the kids were piled in one small area just watching movies, suckers given at the end of the day(so bad on kids teeth), we were very upset about how our children would get picked up and be crying and so depressed almost as soon as they started from the kids being mean and the teachers not sharing the info with the parents...i would never recommend pitter patter

i guess maybe you should have came in more often that is not how this center is and maybe your kids are the ones that had issues before they even went there. they take good care of the kids in their care and it is always clean (fyi)all employee's are given a back ground check and if their is anything on their record they are unable to work there check your dhs guidelines

All DHS liscensed daycares have to be checked at least once every 3 months. I worked at a public daycare as well as had my own in-home daycare for years. My advice is find a good in home daycare. The ratios are so much better as well as the one on one time the children get. You can go to the DHS website and see all the details on what every childcare facitily or home have been written up for. But as noted, we all know that every 3 months you can expect, give or take a few weeks you will be checked. Go visit some random places you are interested in. The place you feel most comfterbal in, try out. Not all children adjust to daycare. Your child may do great in a large group as to where some may not. There may be children that your child does or does not get along with. If you have concerns or questions, expecially about bullying and what not, you should definately bring it to the directors attention. In centers, like i said the ratios are alot more...uneven...but if their is a situation they are not aware of it needs to be addressed. There is always good and bad daycares, everywhere. I really hope you find the perfect one. Best of luck.

By the way, I agree Rainbow Lane is wonderful! If your child is 3-5 I would recomend getting on thier waiting list ASAP! But...it is not a daily thing

I would suggest you find an in-home daycare with many years of experience. The only thing that Stars mean is a college education (could be in basket weaving does not have to be early childhood). Colleges cannot teach what a good daycare provider needs--patience and love for kids. Years of experience is the best qualification for a good provider, because if they really are in it for the right reasons (providing TLC for kids while the parents are away) they will continue to work in this field. Most daycares cannot pay their employees enough to keep them there so they have to hire whoever walks in the door. I have a home daycare and am only a 1 star, this means I do not have a college education, but I do have many hours of child care courses (DHS requires 15 hours of education a year)and 32 years of working in the daycare business but none of this counts for stars. I would leave one of my four kids with a person with many years of experience before I would leave them with a highly educated college graduate just entering the daycare field. I know 1 good daycare home and 1 fixing to open for business but don't know if they would like their name posted so just ask around town.

<quoted text>Is this not a shame? Her name was Kristen Webb and she also was employed at Pitter Patters for over a year. She has had several child- neglect charges before the charges u mentioned. She has 3 boys and they lived in filth. Her last charges were in the Wednesday edition of the paper! Do daycares need help so bad they skip proper procedures at times? I know there are many daycares that care. Finding them is the key!
Her name is Natalie Webb. Her brother is married to the Assistant District Attorney, Gina Webb. Maybe that explains why she hasn't been in jail.

I always had much better outcomes from in home daycares. I also know several of the people who have in home daycares who are wonderful people. You can also call Great Plains Child Care Resource & Referral out of Hobart. They can actually refer you to a daycare where DHS cannot recommend one over another.
