Don't they have a few around Elk now?
|
|||
there is a wind farm north of elk and they have started one north of sweetwater, hundreds of windmills |
||||
|
the one at sweetwater will provide enough electricity for 40,000 homes

Our state should really be investing in wind energy. I've read that Oklahoma has twice the wind energy potential per square mile as Texas does, and if developed, our state could generate nearly 10% of America's energy needs.

1 Do you like seeing the view with Oil wells everywhere? Whats the difference? I would rather go with clean wind energy and help my kids have a cleaner and healthier future. |

Just where is the electric going that is generated from these wind mills? Not to Oklahoma there selling it to other states, we the state gets the money. Why not use the electric we send to other states for Oklahoma. I heard also if it did it would go to OG&E not PSO. Give me some feed back. This is just hear say.

Yeah and our great grandfathers probably complained about the telegraph and electrical power poles that "ruined the view". et me tell you how to make yourself happy. Grab your camera and drive out in the country to a place where you cannot see any power poles or lines or wind generators. Snap a dozen pictures and choose the best one to be framed and hung in your house. See how easy it is? |

I agree with HIM those windmills are ugly. I say if Ted Kennedy can stop them in his state, I say we stop them in ours. I'll take one good coal powered power plant over hundreds of the "pinwheels" that won't produce when the wind doesn't blow, any day. |

1 If we can help stop global warming and save the planet for future generations, it's a small price to pay. |

2 How can we STOP something WE didn't start? It has been both hotter and colder in the past than it is right now. "WE" didn't cause either of those climate changes and "WE" are not causing the current warm up. This is nothing more than politics. FOLLOW THE MONEY........It will open our eyes. |
