SPEEDING DETAIL: Three drivers were charged with speeding during a speed-enforcement detail on Route 117 at Gettysburg Avenue between 8 and 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Speeds ranged between 43 and 52 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Two patrons of Hollywood Casino at Penn National were arrested by state police Tuesday after casino officials apperently discovered them cheating last month.

Dennis Sweeney, 67, Germansville, and Thomas Rooney, 49, Reading, were charged with theft by deception and conspiracy after "winning" $2,430 by manipulating the odds at the casino's craps table on April 27, state police said. Sweeney allegedly used a sleight-ofhand maneuver table to "slide" the dice while Rooney placed a large wager, police said.

Dang cameras. Remember, you are being watched. A**clowns

SKATEBOARD ORDINANCE VIOLATION: A 15-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was charged with riding his skateboard on the street about 9:22 p.m. Monday in the 300 and 400 blocks of West Cherry Street, police said. The borough ordinance prohibits the riding of skateboards on any public roadway in the borough

That is effin rediculous! Find something better to do, like seek and destroy drug cartels swarming your town.

I agree that it is rediculous, but don't blame the cops for enforcing the rule. They didn't make it, its just their duty to enforce it.

Yeah, your right. There isn't enough politics involved in law enforcement for the cops to turn their heads. Betcha they wouldn't have arrested the mayors son, or the judges doughter. C'mon

Cornwall police cited someone for speeding...holy crap. It's too bad they are afraid to cute the locals and do a speed detail on Rexmont Rd they would get most people doing well over the sped limit. But then again they are a bunch of locals who are afraid the cite people from the boro because they might upset someone. Yes I hope a Cornwall cop reads this.

Point taken. I just feel bad for the police because they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they didn't cite the kids skateboarding, some senior citizen would have been calling the mayor's office and complaining that the police weren't doing their jobs. Everyone is just too quick to put the blame on the police and not the people who caught the police's attention by doing something they are not supposed to do.

That being said, I do still agree with you that the rule is ridiculous. Here are some teenagers involved in a physical activity. They are not parked in front of a TV, playing video games or smoking pot. They are outside doing something physical, and they now have a fine to pay. ItÂ’s a stupid rule that needs to be removed.

"Nicole Heisey was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person after the boy was found walking along the highway for the second time in a week, police said.

Heisey told police her son was watching TV unsupervised in another room of their apartment when he got out. She told police her son knows how to open the door and gets out without her knowledge."

That is another fine example of good parenting.

SO today W. Cornwall chased down a herd of motorcycles whizzing through Mt. Gretna. Me thinks they want us to approve additional spending for them.

Chief Harris - it is going to take more than 3 or 4 speeding tickets to convince me that your group deserves more money. We have been asking for your help with this problem since 2003.
