LOL, good post. I admit the last time we were there several of the servers looked a bit haggard...but I don't judge. LOL!!

Well I dont the food over the help, but one waitress kept wiping her nose as she took our order and her cheekbones were as sunk as the Titanic. By the way

one of the reasons the servers look so bad is because o'charleys is a slave driver. they have no respect for their severs or the servers families. managment there is a joke. the servers there make 2.13 a hour plus tips and the managment feels the need to work these people as if they are paying them alot more. the side work is insane, the rules contiunously bend to who ever is kissing ass that day, and guidelines are always broken (by the managers). you can be a great server and if management doesnt like you they will give you a shitty section to work. instead of helping you with a problem the managers there feel the need to yell at you in front of everybody. if managagement is bad so will the people under them. they definately do not lead by example.

Just thought I'd add my two cents in regarding O'Charleys! I eat there quite regularly for lunch.
I always ask for a server named Jennifer. She's a very attentive waitress/server; always remembers me, and is always genuine, sweet, keeps my table clean and is always appreciative.
My food is always on-time, and good. She takes great care of her customers.
I was never a big tipper, I had been there several times; and had NOT tipped well, yet she still makes my dining experience lovely.
Now I DO tip her well. Ask for Jennifer. She's a doll and you can't go wrong!
Just wanted to add my two cents. Thanks for reading!

I heard that about the management and the place has gone downhill because of it. They have great food though and always seem busy. You can ask for Lill too, she has been there a long time and will never let you have to ask for refills or fresh rolls. She is a hustler. Very personable. Knows how to take care of customers.

It is sad that they don't pay them well and they have to share their tip with the server and busboy. Then you have those people that don't leave a tip at all or a dollar for them to split. They do the best they can. I give them that.

tired of hearing this 2.13 crap, you know what? that pays the taxes and gives a few dollars on a paycheck each week. in actuality servers at o'charley's and other steak houses easily clear 10-15 dollars an hour. so don't bitch about side work or think that you get paid 2.13 an hour to do it, it's crap. if it wasn't for the entire restaurant being there and maintained you wouldn't get to make tips.

also, most of the other stuff is true, it's pretty shitty there.

They are right...they put alot of work on servers because of the less pay they get to pay. At Bob Evans...us servers even had to tear down the cooks line at the end of the night! It is unreal...They ones that get paid $10 an hour don't have to do anything but just go and stand on a server back line sometime and just watch....get over yourself!

can you read? if so, please do and then respond again. in anticipation of comments you may have in the future i will say the following: servers' hourly wage as paid by their employer is somewhere around 2.13, i get that. that two dollars and some odd cents an hour generally pays for all of the income taxes that a server will be subject to and produces maybe a few dollars a week beyond that that is result in a pay-check. past their employer paid hourly wage, servers at o'charley's and other steakhouses alike receive commonly 10-15 dollars an hour in tips, yes, even after they tip the bartender and the server's assistant (busboy) which at o'charley's they no longer have. some days or weeks they may see higher, and of course some lower, but they most constantly break 10 dollars an hour, after taxes. i'm not going to feel sorry for you, get over IT.

"Honestly" have you ever been server? Even if in a good busy restaurant the servers are making $10 an hour...you do know most servers only work for about 4 or 5 hours right? I swear peoples opinions of servers is absolutly ridiculous...if everyone has such a problem with servers we should start getting rid of servers and making people get up and get their shit on their own lmao. Also OCharleys servers...some of them are really horrible. Not paying attention, disregarding customers but its not just ocharleys...EVERY restaurant has servers who are like that. I use to get tired of customers bullshit too and completely shut down. I would purpoesly be rude back to customers who thought they were king and/or queen for the night when going out to eat.

Yes, we commonly make $10 an hour...BUT we are paid by the consumer. Which means, I am serving them! The company can't pay me so why should I break my back for them?

without the entire restaurant there and in proper working order you can't sell the company's goods to the consumer. so, you could see it as taking some responsibility for your own job preservation. or you might see it as work you should be more than willing to do in exchange for the opportunity to serve tables and make that 10 dollars an hour. also, you could just realize that it's your job and if you don't like it you should move into a different line of work.

You do realize that you're getting f/ucked, right? Aussies receive standard minimum wage on top of tips.

Shut up...you know you wouldn't do something that is someone else job just because you make a lower wage! Go ahead...say you would to "preserve" your job! Lets say you a tile layer....lets say they make you do the plumbing because a plumber is too expensive and you have to do plumbing (which we all know is WAY more expensive than a painter or tile layer) would you do it? Think about it?

you are so full of it. you put away the sour cream and cilantro and condiments and clean off the warmers on YOUR side of the grill where you pick up your food. you in no way tear down the cooks line. ive worked there before and work there now. the cooks clean their grills and everything on that side of the line. where THEY work. the cooks dont work anywhere outside of the grill so why should they clean it? the servers are the ones making a mess out of the sour cream and shitt why should they clean it??? besides if youre even halfway decent at waiting tables you make good money at BE so get over yourself and learn how to work! lazy!
