Meijer has already looked at 2 properties in etown, one behind sams club and the other by the old big t truckstop. They said they didnt like either, and didnt see much they did like. Think about it people, if they come here they would have to compete with two walmarts not 20 miles apart, two krogers, and a sams club, not to mention target and kmart and all of the smaller stores. Way to much competition for them here.

First off, its zoned commercial, so they cant put a pig farm there. Second, they have already started building a subway, and are starting dirt work on something else. The owner of the property wants buisness there, as numerous farmers have asked about that land.

Everything is on the north end of town. Big t is on the southern end of town.

No, I didnt take it as a joke, because this isnt a joking matter. The southern end of town has been negelected for to long. People need to stop constantly joking around and take something serious for once.

I have heard the rumor about a Meijers coming to the Big T location for a couple of years now so I will believe it when I see it.

To think that Meijer can't compete with a sh*ty WalMart is stupid. Everytime I go in there I hear of people getting fired and hiring new part timers. The shelves are empty and don't see anyone to help me. So why couldn't they compete with WalMart or Kroger. It would be in there best intrest to build on the South side of town. You next to I65. Plus you have all the traffic coming from Glendale area. Not sure if it will happen, but would love to see some new stores come to Etown. Just as long as it isn't another Bull Sh*t version of them. Because that is all Etown really has!

Well, if this is true, which I doubt because I just cant see meijers building here, but if this is true, that sure is a small ass lot. The majority of the land over there belongs to the flea market anyway. I mean most meijers are huge, not near enough room there for a walmart sized store.

It's been rumored for years that one is going where Big T was ... so, like the other poster, I will believe it when I see it.

Meijer has already won the competition with Walmart for my family. We travel to Valley Station to shop at the Meijer there rather than to the Walmart in Radcliff. There is something to be said for keeping my blood pressure low, getting great prices, local produce, and better quality EVERYTHING. I don't know whether they're coming to E-town or not, but it's already worth the drive for me.

P.S. A man I know who is responsible for bring industry to this town has repeatedly said the Big T and Flea Market info are just rumors. Hope this helps.
