Well... From what I read a consent form is the mildest form of action the FDIC can take, so hopefully FFSBKY isn't in that big of trouble. I've banked there for years and so does pretty much everyone I know. I don't know a lot regarding business matters, but they said this was a fairly common practice in times of recession... Or was that just their way of sugar-coating things?

The bank is operating under a consent order, nothing major alot of other banks such as First Citizens is also under the order! ITs just to reorganize and to build capitol for the bank. Google the consent order it explains all of it. |

No, they gave out several LARGE bad loans that have tanked, and the FDIC has said that the loans should never have been given. The biggest is for a property in Louisville to a developer for millions, now the property is worth a fraction of what was loaned and First Federal is having to eat the loan. The FDIC actually has a person in the bank that approves or dissapproves of everything that is being done in the bank. The are in trouble, but they will most likely survive, or get bought by a bigger bank is what a lot of people are starting to think. They are calling a lot of good loans due because of this, and since banks all over the place are not lending money their stock holders are getting nervous. |
