Nice store on 31W south. Inexpensive prices. Ironic it's run by the Amish who don't use electricity. And they accept credit cards. Maybe they're coming into the 21st century.

ALL THE FOOD IS OUTDATED????? no schitt! hmmm.. could that be why it is DISCOUNTED????? I guess if you're into shelf life, and that matters to you, then don't darken the front door. I wonder what the expiration date is on the a$$wipe paper or say on paper towels? Some people are so full of shit and name brands and clothing labels, they're not to be even considered as intelligent. I just can't believe all the food is outdated. That just is too much to handle. I did think it odd, the Amish use electricity.

I think it's a neat place and there's a lot more there than just food. Besides, it's not like they sell rotten meat and molded bread..I will take my chances on a can being a few weeks expired. This poor girl appreciates a bargain.

D and D = Dented and Damaged. It's a salvage grocery, like any other Bent & Dent or other salvage place. I like stores like that myself. A bent up box doesn't make cereal taste bad. And since the one in Sonora closed, that new one is the closest for me.

The Amish have several stores on hwy 60 going toward hardinsburg. They have a salvage store, two furniture stores, and a general store. They have the best homemade pies, cakes and cheeses. You can get any homemade candy, sausage and jerky you can think of. Plus the salvage store and general store is cheap. Good quality and fresh.

This is the easiest way to explain. I go there every weekend lol :

Take Dixie hwy all the way through Radcliff and ft know. Turn left onto hwy 60. Take hwy 60 through Meade county and Irvington. The first store is roughly 5 miles past Irvington gas. There are 4 stores on hwy 60. You can't miss them. The general store is on the right side of the road. There are large rocking chairs and swings (wooden) in front of store. Large Amish home directly behind store. I can give more precise directions if needed.

I have been into that little store, and I wasnt impressed. I am with you, they put expiration dates on food for a reason. They put paper towels in wrappers and not ziplock baggies for a reason. I would rather go to kroger and spend a couple more dollars and get food that hasnt gone bad and paper towels that nobody has had thier hands all over. The way I see it your not going to save that much money at that place anyway. And by the way, whoever owns D&D grocery needs to think about paving the parking lot, or at least grade the holes out.

Expiration dates are put on items because of the FDA rules, it in no way has anything to do with the food being bad. You really should research before posting. And buying at a discount store is saving waste, can you imagine throwing out all that food? What do you think that would do for the prices of items, if the companies were to lose all that money? BTW, food pantries give out some of that outdated food along with government meats and cheese, so I say again, RESEARCH, before posting.

actually most items are good several months after the expiration dates!! everything but meat. Most of it will last for months after the expiration, the companies just put the expiration date to cover their own asses!! its quite okay to buy and use or they could't sale it!! So save a buck and buy it cheaper.

Again what does this brand name crap? you are sooo dumb nobody was saying anything about name brands, I myself used to buy that out dated stuff until my whole family got food poisoned from it, so now I just buy cheap, not name brand food that is not expired!!!
Expiration dates are put on food for a good reason, so you dont get food poison, which you can die from, I guess some people dont care about their children!!!
