This place sucks. Long waits and they only see you two days out of the week. During those two days if you have an issue they treat you like you are a non patient. You will wait days for a return call and they screwed up my scripts 4 different times, and once I had to drive there to get them fixed cause I could not get them to call me back. I do not live in the same town either. WORSE pain management place I have ever had.

Yes, Dr Shah is a great Doctor, listens to you and really tries to help instead of being treated like cattle. I have been to other doctors before and this Doctor is definately a good doctor!!!!!!!!!!

Dr Shah takes the time to listen to his patients. He does not herd them like cattle. There is a wait time some of the times, but they have went to 100% electronic and this has slowed them down some because they are trying to learn the new system. It would make it easier if everyone would learn to use a computer. They are not going away people! The nurses at Avicenna are the best! They see over 300 patients a month and as long as you are not rude and hateful they go out of their way to help. And as long as you are doing what you are suppose to be doing then there is no problem. Don't try to fool them cause they will catch you. No drug dealers wanted here. This is a great office as long as your are not trying to do the wrong thing!

We at Avicenna are very dedicated to our patients. We put our patients first and foremost! We are in the pain management field because we care. We do have a long wait time most of the time, however we have made adjustments to help make it a little more bearable, we now have fresh coffee available and a TV. If you are having pain issues wee would love to help!

I am a patient at Avicenna. I have been going there for almost a yr now. I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with Dr. Shah and the staff. They are all so nice, and will listen to everything you have to say. Dr. Shah is by far the best Dr. I have ever had. Be prepared for a little wait time, but once you get your turn, it is all worth it and he listens to all of your concerns. :)

Dr Shah is an excellent dr to work for. He is good at what he does and will train anyone willing to learn. We have an extern program with Brown Mackie College and train externs monthly.

Do not go to this clinic, it doesn't matter if u came in with an ARM cut off, they will treat as a drug seeker/addict. U R not allowed to speak to the Dr, but must go thru a rude, uncaring, & under trained group of ppl in the front office. They do not individualize their patients, everyone 8s a drug seeker !! I also know they.are fixing to be sued by a patient, so expect changes if u go there. This is a very poorly managed clinic !!!

I am a new patient of Dr Shah's and I must say I'm rather disappointed with his staff. I went for my initial visit over 3 weeks ago, he prescribed me meds to help with the pain until he could do my epidural injections later this month, I have not been able to get any of the meds he prescribed me because the office just faxed the PA to my insurance yesterday even though they received the papers 3 weeks ago from my pharmacy and have been telling me for 3 weeks that they were waiting on my insurance company. I am very disappointed with how this whole experience has been, all I want is relief and I'm getting the runaround. I'm hoping they'll have it done tomorrow and I will be able to get my prescriptions so that I can function like a normal person again.

Avicenna has gone thru major changes in employment and how things are operated. Please understand that the staff tries their best each and every day. The rude people are gone and Jessica and Patty are two of the nicest people I have met. They really try to get the answers you need and Patty returns calls even just to say hey I got your message and Dr Shah has your chart.

Everybodies a critic. The ones that post bad reviews are the ones that either got caught Dr shopping or selling pills. It is what it is and with all the new laws going into effect, all the addicts and drug dealers are gonna be out of luck. If you do what you are suppose to and really need help then Avicenna is an awesome clinic. Staff is great and the dr is the best. Just saying...

I love Dr. Shah and his wonderful staff! They saved me from constant pain from a car wreck in 2011 and surgeries that followed. It may take a while to get through the "system and red tape" due to new and much needed state and federal drug laws but, THEY WILL HELP YOU. I have never met a more caring and genuine doctor in my life. He spoke with my orthopedic surgeon in Louisville and they agreed on a plan for me. Dr. Shah met with me the first time for 1 1/2 hours. He is VERY in depth with getting to know his patients in everyway. This year will be 2 years since the car wreck...a long journey but, a good one that has taken me to a place of peace and healing thanks to Dr. Shah and his wonderful staff.

From what I have read here, everyone in the front office is a jerk, and DR Shah walks on water with Jesus. The Doc, spends hours talking to one patient, while 50 wait outside in pain. All the good thing seems to be written by the staff during their long lunch break.
