I am expecting a new baby in about 3 months. I already have one child but am not thrilled with the pediatrician that we currently have. Anybody have any good experiences with a particular one that is here in Etown?

I agree. Dr. Knisely is great, and my kids really like her, too. She's in with Community Medical Associates on Woodland Drive. Good luck.

Dr. Sumrall is also an awesome pediatrician. She takes the time to talk to her patience and the parents about any questions you may have. She is very sweet. She is also in with Dr. Knisley's practice. Good luck!

don't go to dr Dao on the road behind HMH you have to wait forever in the waiting room and they will finally take you back and weigh and measure your kids and take their temperture and then they will put you in a room and ask you a couple of questions and then they will say that she will be in shortly and she won't come in the room for an hour after you are back there. I am thinking about switching my kids to Dr Ahmed at Healthway beside Speedway in Etown.

Dr. Knisely is wonderful. She is caring and takes the time to make sure all of your questions are answered. We are never rushed from her office and have always been able to get in immediately when an emergency arises.....Her staff always returns "question" calls too and thats a rare thing these days.!!!! Good Luck to you!:)

I personally would NOT recommend Dr. Sumrall. She is an EXTREMELY sweet lady, very very kind and wonderful, however, as a doctor I'm not a fan. She takes too much of a wait and see approach. I'm the first to say kids get perscribed too much medicine and it's nice she doesn't jump straight to that, but when you take your child back three or four times in a month with the exact same thing she can't get over and she STILL won't do anything about it that's when it's time to seek out someone just a bit more aggresive.

Most of the doctors around here take their own children to Pearman, Ball, Flynn, and Cammack. Take it for what it's worth.

I have 4 boys. My wife died after our 4th. We ALWAYS took our boys to Dr. Padgett. He is a wonderful doctor and needless to say all my friends with children go to him. We have NEVER had any problems like this before with him? The thing that makes me scratch my head the most is that my 3rd son has egzma and Dr. Padgett told us to put baby oil in this bath water and some vasline on the areas that looked most irritated. This happened when my son was 9 months old. He never prescibed any kind of ointments to my son, and he is now 7.? How the hell did his soft spot get indented if he was just using cream? That makes no sense? I think there was something more going on there than JUST that cream.. Cream can't cause a soft spot to indent???? Another thing the mother shoulod have read that it wasn't intended for mouth or groin. unless the ointment wasn;t intened to be used for a certian age than there shouldnt have been a problem. If she would have read that it wasn't to be used in those areas then she could have asked for something that would help those areas..... This seems to be more the mothers fault than the doctors

the soft spot was indented due to having all the reactions from the cream n what was making him sick going to the brain n she did read up on the cream n called him back the dumb asshole said that it is still fine to use and this is her first baby n actually trusted him so she used it anyways n saw nothing bad was happening till she went to wake him up the next morning. he should have told her to stop using it but no he didnt. my mom even took me when i was a baby which n he told my mom to stop giving me water it was going to cause water on the brain but when i went to another doctor he said it was fine as long as u took it away from me an hour before actual feeding time n dumbass was wrong yet again cuz ive never had water on the brain. hes not very intellegent u might like him n he might actually do something for ur kids but he needs to pay attention to ALL his patients instead of just guessing n rushing them out of the office with some lame excuse or something that could kill an infant. seriously every other parent ive talked to quickly got their child away from him. he needs his license taken away even drs from other places n hospitals even say it cuz theyre tired of seeing so many children being sick cuz of his mistakes. so congrats hes good to ur kids cuz if not they prob. would have serious problems by now.

I have heard great things about Lea Ann Kinney at Norton's. That is who is going to be my babies periatrician. Someone told me I was very lucky to get her. I am not a fan of Dr. Dao myself but know others who do like her. Every person is different.
