I don't believe Costco would put a store in E-Town.
The city can barely justify a Sam's Club.

The owner is clearing the land for future prospects. Nothing being planned yet.

No way. That piece of property is not big enough for a Costco parking lot. I have only seen full size costco stores, etown cannot support a full size costco. Not enough higher income people in Hardin Co.

BUT....

wouldn't a mini-Costco be compatible with everything else that is built in E-Town?

Having said that, I agree that the pad is too small for anything major, such as Costco or Meijer's.

Probably be another trashy strip mall.

I dont think costco has mini stores. If they are going to try one in etown, that is not the area to try it in.

The Costco at Louisville would fit on that site. It's easy to check on Google Earth.

That may well be but there are not enough people in E-Town to support a Costco. Costco's business model does not line up with the city.

I don't know whether that's true or not because I don't know Costco's business model.

I was simply questioning the statement that the site isn't big enough. It is very easy to see whether the site is big enough by using Google Earth. That site is big enough to hold the closest Costo to here. So the person was clearly wrong to say that the site was too small. If they are wrong on that then they could be wrong on the other part too.
