sniper101st, why don't you tell me? I don't talk to him. Just wondering if all that is a bunch of lies. Numbers just don't add up. With all the years he was in Fire Depts I wondered how he could have retired from the State Police. Maybe there is more than one Rick Ledford out in the county. Since the Chief of Police in Vine Grove came on board after retiring from the State Police and ousting the Chief we had I thought maybe he had been hired by Police Chief Steve Manning because he worked with him at KSP. From your !!!!!! and laughing out loud it must be good. Come on. I won't tell anyone.

He was a trooper for about 12 years. He combined that time with his fire time to get his retirement.

Thanks anyway sniper. Maybe I will ask him next time I see him. I didn't know you could combine PD and FD time for retirement. Did he go to North or Central Hardin?
my,my: No, Riggs is now a Captain on the force after the mayor hired Manning when he retired from the KSP. Caused a shakeup and cops left the force. Riggs will not be forced out. And he shouldn't. He did a helluva job as Chief in my opinion and from what I heard still does. Don't know if it was like the grapevine reported because he arrested one of the councilmen for DUI and they still hadn't forgiven him for standing up for his rights when he was terminated for cooperating with authorities back in the day for stuff going on within the dept and city hall and sued the city. A real soap opera story. VG has always had some of the best officers in the county I think. They do a good job, but there always has to be the one badass who watches too many COPS episodes and forgets he is not in a big bad crime ridden city. I have heard that this guy is one of those cops.

Thanks for the info. Don't plan on being here long with all the political bullshit going on and the feeling that I moved to Fort Knox with the BRAC housing areas building up around me where all you could see in some places use to be quiet farmland. Too many people for me! I did my military life. I still work for the military. Tired of all the bullshit. But, I like the sounds of the night, crickets, coyotes, the wind blowing, owls, cows, or just QUIET. Going to leave that ratrace at Knox and find me a new home. Move down to Rough River or Nolin in the wilderness somewhere. Wake up, drink coffee, sit outside, read a book from beginning to end, fish, plant vegetables/flowers and enjoy God's nature with no booming music rattling my glass, screaming kids, screaming tires, fighting, yelling, trash, yapping dogs no one will have the decency to quiet down, where neighbors still respect each other's property and know genuine hospitality and friendliness. Sounds like HEAVEN don't it? Take care Sniper.

200 acre farm sounds nice. Magnolia is great country atmosphere, but didn't think it had built up as much, but then I haven't been through there in a long while. Good luck on your retirement when you do. Thank you for your service. Strength starts here sounded like the history of Armor and our training base. Not what we have become nothing much more than a paper pushing post. A retired colonel had a letter in the News Enterprise that said it all about the move. Tend to agree with him. If you haven't read it, pull it up online, it's under Letters to the Editor. Makes sense to me.

Civilian or military? I know all too well what you deal with. More than I want to know about LEC and post in general. Just want to do my time and get out of there. It looks less and less like the historical Armor Center and I am sorry it couldn't stay the same. What those yahoos in Congress did was make it so much easier to close that place one day. Told those people to never say never....Been here too long.

You got that right. Too many people and too much attitude. Been asked to go to HRC. I put my two index fingers up like a cross and told them to go away. I would never work over there, have no desire to even drive to that side of post, be herded into little cubicles everyday where apparently they have little or no rights as federal employees, some treated like dumbass hillbillies with no skills, not to mention I get tired of all the power playing and the need to constantly re-invent the wheel, sinful waste of taxpayers money, those big egos, all that jocking for position and butt kissing I have heard about (and have witnessed before) is more than what they pay me to put up with. Been there, done that. I worked in 1ATB for awhile back in the day and know all about it and more than I want to know about that area. Nothing like building a mini pentagon sized building on top of an old school Army ammo dump. I also learned never to drink the water. Yeah, I am close enough to the gate and geared up to go out it in a year or two for the last time, free as a bird with just me to worry about if I can just keep my sanity until then, those gate backups are killing me. Was over in your area today and could of walked right past you sniper and not even known it. It really is a small world. Have a good evening.

It is sad when a father complains about paying child support. I am not surprized your not happy in this area. People with with your attitude isn't accepted very well in this area. Many of the people that live in this area is retired military that returned after retirement. So be carefull who you talk about. I hope your child lives here this is a great area to raise a child. If they do shame on you for wanting to leave. We make scarfies for our children. If not you need to move closer to them and be a father.

No wonder you are so puzzled when you half read the comment he/she was making. Sniper101 could just as easily be a female. Your assuming. There are deadbeat moms too while you are assuming only men desert their children. First off ther is no complainig in any comment on there, as I am the one they have been replying to. At least he/she IS paying child support and puts their child before retiring and leaving the rat race bullshit that goes on with driving through that gate to work. The post has changed significantly, and unless you work there and especially if it has been 20+ years, you have no idea how much. I think if that person lives and works here it could be very likely they know this is a retired military community except for the generations of founders. You shouldn't shame anyone you know nothing about let alone do all that assuming and offer parenting advise. Just a thought. And in case you didn't catch it, that he/she/they/that person means I do not know this person but can identify with the subject WE were discussing. Thanks for the advise about who we talk about like we didn't know that. As long as you not threatening anyone, slandering them etc.. you can talk about anyone you want to. I hope this helped solve your puzzle.

NO YOU NEED TO READ IT AGAIN!!!!!! You really are puzzled, aren't you. Nowhere in any one post above is there mention of a child/children in any form other than a statment about someone having 23 years in and not leaving early, meaning 25 - 35 years of service because of child support and posibbly to ensure it gets paid. Obviously, that is more important than giving up the rat race out there and retiring as soon as eligible. You know a lot of people do that. Maybe you don't work and understand that. So why don't you take your puzzled self to some thread where people like to be rude and crude and butt into subjects they know nothing about. Some people get on here to just trade information and vent about the state of the world, similiar opinions or experiences. I would hope you are less "puzzled" now. If you see something other than that in the posts above, please cut and paste it, as I am just not seeing it. If you are trying to make a point why don't you just do that and address it to the sniper101 since you are so !!!!!!!!!! about it.
