Im not saying this is what is happening in etown cause I doubt that ours is closing but lots of people have heard of closing down a jail. If the jail is shown incapable of preserving the civil liberties of the prisoners they close them. Which is why we no longer have the old 19th century jail that we used to house prisoners in of course. ACLU can close a jail through lawsuits as quick as an eviction notice can. But I doubt Hardin county jail is that bad.

Oh God, please don't make me have to close down another one because the cable tv went on the blink. Holy Shit Batman!! The drival of civil liberties are back on the net. 19th century would make it in the 1800's. They didn't have cable back then. Did they?

They are transferring inmates to other jails. A friend of mine has a son there and was told personally by one of the CO's that is why he was being transferred....Don't kill the messenger because of your ignorance!

they can close a jail, just like they've been closing some schools-as long as they can find room to place those inmates/students elsewhere they certainly can close a jail. if any-1 hears or learns any facts on the subject please elaborate.

I have a buddy that got transferred there to the drug treatment program. It's odd that they would be bringing people in and shipping people out. Or is the substance abuse program separate from the jail?

Its very likely & possible that a program like that is held seperate from the jail. ITS MY OPINION,that if they are closing it,due to whatever reason, they'll likely be granting some early paroles, probations etc. Those with non violent crimes & have been model inmates,1st time offemnders etc. Its also my opinion that if Im right about early releases ,ppl.chosen had better walk the line!! They'll chalk it up to saving $ that the state doesnt have to pay out that $ that they were having to pay to the guards ,etc. & the early releases were granted due to helth regulation codes being violated because of severe over-crowding,if they do close it, I expect them to re-open in less tha a year.

its not impossible but somehow I dont think its likely. It may not be picninc in the county jail but as far as I have ever heard no ones rights are being violated and the fact that it often is overcrowded makes it less likely they will close it, not more likely. But then again, beauracrats hardly do anything that makes sense so who knows.

Very true, things are done that make little to no sense to all the time! Having said that If anyone does learn any actual facts on the subject please let us know. My husbands'ex-sister in law of many years past were staying with us just long enough to get on their feet. 2 or 3 days before they were 2 move in-2 their own apartment, her husband ran into our bedrm. grabbed a loaded 38 p[istol from under the mattress & GOES INTO THEIR BEDROOM & SHOOTS AT HER! It just grazed the side of her facewent into her neck (barely under the flesh)& exited & hit the head board of the bed where she was sitting. All she had done was BI#*h at that poor man the whole time they had been here, I dont sleep very well,so I heard her going on from daylight till dark & whern my husband thought they were sleeping, she never let up & kept on him from dark yo day-light only worse! I believe he just missed,& had he hit her I feel he would've turned the gun on himself. She didnt want my husband to call 911,she exclaimed,"IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT!" Yeah accidently missed! BUt My heart goes out to him cuz'everyone that knew her will tell you she is 'NUTZ.' anyway he is in Hardin County & pled out to 10yrs. That stupid BI**H should feel guilty and make it hard 4 her to sleep at night, everyone has a breaking point and she pushed him to his!!! He treated us with the utmost respect & was pleasant to be around, things sometimes get WAY outta hand when you allow ppl'to push you too far, sometimes we dont know where our own breaking point is! I'd like to have our pistol back!!!!!!!! So if any-1 happens to learn that closing the ctr. is 'fact or romour' please let us know. Thanks alot.
