Our judges and politicians are protected by armed police. Do you think the state of Kentucky should allow CCP permits to teachers and other public servents so they could be allowed to carry firearms on their body in public buildings to include schools? Signs could be posted on school doors warning idiots that some teachers are armed. This would be a deterrent to keep those away who would have peopel who can shoot back. That way we wouldn't have tax increases to pay for metal detectors and deputies. Also steel bars should be mounted inside the classrooms to keep the doors from being shoved open. Of course the teachers would have to take training in urban combatives, but it would make them and alot of other parents feel more secure.

I believe every teacher should have to have a concealed carry permit and have a locked gun in every classroom. I get sick when I see no weapons allowed signs. Do you really think the guy with the assault rifle is going to see the sign and leave. No you idiots. The laws are only obeyed by law abiding citizens. They are only keeping the ppl out that is willing to save their lives. If they say no concealed weapons maybe we should start carrying them in the open like the old west. If I can't conceal it I'll show it. I will not shop in any store or eat in any resturant that will not allow weapons. I want to feel safe. As sad as it is to say as a ccwl holder I would be willing to die for anyone that was put in harms way.

I sure in the hell don't want to eat where you do. It's been a long time since I sat down to eat and the guy at the next table had to have a shootem out to save the day. Idiot. Go to a drive thru, you drive by.

explain the reason you feel the need to carry assault rifles with clips around for "protection". explain why a hunter would need one. I don't hunt but I figure if you're that bad, you might need to find another sport. Isn't hunting a sport of trying to kill a defensless animal?

I see no reason for assult rifles or expanded clips. I also feel the loophole for flea markets and gun shows should be closed. But if they do ban assult weapons will they look at the records and go door to door and collect those guns that lawabiding citizens own? This is what I am afraid of because then you have just stooped to communism and we all know about Obama's socialist beliefs. Another thing is that criminals who use guns to commit crimes never serve full terms under the law. Drug dealers that are here illegal get deported! We have to invoke a fedeal capitol/death penalty. And personally I am sick about hearing about no care for mentally challenged. Why must we label everything when it's a person killing another person. The press is slowly pointing blame at the mother who legally bought those weapons. But there does need to be a ban but make the punishment fit the crime, and allow teachers to protect themselves and our children. As for people that do have a CCP as I do, you might need one of us one day when someone comes into a restraunt and starts shooting people at will. Would you change your mind then, after looking down the barrel of death? I can't see you critizing some CCP holder for saving your life.

Teachers should be armed, but there is no way in hell that the libs in charge is ever gonna allow that.
Just watch tv now and see that they are wanting to disarm law abiding citizens.
Crazies and criminals will always find a way to get guns.
In Mexico, citizens are not allowed to own guns. Mexico is the murder capitol of the world.
Illinios has the toughest gun laws in the state. Chicago is the murder capitol of the US.

Australia banned high powered guns in 1996 and have seen a 60% decline in gun related deaths. Yes, drug dealers in Mexico and Chicago are going to kill each other--that's how their businesses operate and, frankly, who cares if a bunch of criminals take each other out. But housewives in CT with psycho sons are not going to find an illegal way to get high capacity guns...so you can stop that false narrative. I've been around guns and hunting my whole life, so I respect guns and know how to handle them. But gun owners have got to stop with the thinking that because you're a responsible and stable gun owner, all gun owners are responsible and stable. Gun owners who want to maintain their rights to own have to step up to the plate with solutions for keeping them away from people who have no business owning them. The NRA's job is to sell as many as possible, so they're not a credible voice in the debate. They're like a drug dealer who tells you to smoke weed to calm down if you get too high on Cocaine.

It is more than druggies killin one another in Mexico and Chicago.
If we were to ban certain guns, do you honestly believe that those with ill intent would not be able to get them?
You are very delusional if you think that!

If you banned the manufacture, distribution, import and ownership of assault weapons, it would be very difficult for anyone other than the most sophisticated crime syndicate to get them (see hand grenades, rocket launchers, nuclear weapons). And for those groups, we have police forces with similar weapons to combat. Don't be a reactionary NRA lackey: banning rocket launchers does not threaten your ownership of a shotgun for hunting, and neither would banning assault rifles. It's actually 20 year old nerds with easy access to assault rifles that threatens legitimate gun ownership.

No, a ban on the manufacture, distribution, import, sale and ownership on assault rifles would prevent anyone other than the most sophisticated crime syndicates from having them (see rocket launchers). And we have equally armed police forces to combat that. Don't be an NRA lackey and say that the ban on rocket launchers threatens your ownership of a shotgun for hunting or a handgun for protection. What threatens gun ownership is 20 year old weirdos having easy access to massive kill weapons.

Our government is supplying Syrian rebels and civilians with weapons to fight a tyrannical government. Our 2nd Amendment rights have never been about having weapons for hunting or sports.

You're right: it was designed to give local militia's the ability to protect themselves in lieu of a standing army (like the Swiss have today). However, the NRA paid the current SCOTUS to interpret that as individual ownership in the 2008 Heller case. So that's what we have to deal with now. BTW, in the Heller case, Scalia (writing for the majority) specifically said that the government has the right to limit the requirements and types of weapons as part of those rights. So the 2nd amendment, as it was designed and intended, has no relevance to the current conversation.

As a law abiding citizen, I do not think there should be any restrictions or control over what I can have, as long as I can afford it. During the 20th century, over 56 million people were exterminated because they were defenseless as a result of gun control.

Really, so you think Donald Trump should be able to purchase a whole fleet of bombers and nuclear warheads simply because he's not a felon can afford to? I don't anyone sane would agree with that...I know the Supreme Court certainly disagrees with you.

If you watched VANGUARD, the war on marijuna, you would see also innocent bystanders being killed in gang shootings, especially in Arizona and New Mexico. The cartels also kidnapp American citizens and arm "field watchers" in our National Forest while growing marijuana. The bottom line is they always have automatic weapons. I believe in owning a gun, but we have to adjust to the times. If you really think you need a fully automatic weapon you are either a criminal, ex con, pathetically scared, or a gun collector. I believe they should be banned however when someone breaks the law and they are not a US citizen, don't return them to Mexico. If they are a US citizen they should do 20 years-no parole! They could learn Spanish with their cartell buddies.

let someone come to my home and ask for my guns....I will first hand show them they can be used. I am a mother and they are protection for me and my three children.
