A group of us have already started the process and contacted the UAW. Hopefully it won't be long. If interested, give us a look..

yeah, the union sure has worked out well for all of its current members! what an idiotic idea, if you don't like your job find one that makes you happy.

Unions had a place in this country back in the 50's. There is no place for them now. Union plants are the first to shut down! If my employees ever tried to start a union I would shut the doors!

Low? How do you figure? Do you think I am going to let some union tell me how to run my company? Unions came about because there were no labor laws to protect employees and children working 7 days per week 15 hours per day. There are labor laws now, so what can a union do for you?

I'll tell what a union can do for you--take your money! Honestly, a union is the death blow to a company.

I would guess this is a layed off person looking for a little "revenge"??
Remember,Akebono has 2 plants CLOSED and can move all our jobs to Japan in a matter of a few months if this happens.

heard about this at work last night. A myspace page? You can buy your own .com name for $10. Those bringing up Springfield and Glasgow make a good point. I'd prefer my job stay right here in Etown if you don't mind. Good luck getting your supporters.

might think about changing the color layout on your myspace page. I hear red/green color blind people are having trouble reading it. They deserve a laugh too.

Not4U2Know....If my employees don't like working for me they are free to go somewhere else to work. Employees that want a union in 2009 are typically disgruntled for some reason. Unions do NOTHING but stir up trouble and take your money. They will try to fight for more money, more vacation, more benefits above and beyond what is already mandated. Employers, in the Obama era, are already facing "grave" dangers with this administration. If my employees tried to unionize I would have no choice but to close the doors. Obama, unfortunately, may be making that decision for me now as we speak. Because of his plan to raise taxes on people making more than $250,000 per year I will most likely have no choice but to, at very minimum, lay off 4 or 5 people. Just remember, just because my company makes more than $250,000 per year adjusted gross income, does not mean that I take home that much.

I understand that just because your company makes that does not mean that YOU do. I know what Obama is trying to do and to be honest i DO NOT AGREE! I would give a union 50/50 because i used to be union and yes, They did do me good at that time.

you need to study the real plan and stop going on what Rush and fox news are telling you.

Fox news does lean to the right, but at least you here both sides of the issue. CNN is an absolute joke of a news channel. They will only tell you their side and not even give the opposing side a voice. I personally do not listen to Rush, however, he tells it like it is. He does not back down from someone who opposes his opinion.

my husband works for DANA. And I just luv seeing those union dues coming out of his check on the paycheck stub! NOT!! What does the union do for them nothing maybe a union party in louisville here and there. I say keep the union out of it. They do nothing he was laid off for a almost a year he got called back to work because he has a low employee number not because the union had anything to do with it

Unknown, if your husband's pay gets cut 10% and you lose all 401k matching, college tuition help, bonuses if applicable, you would understand why unions do more than just take dues. What benefits does DANA offer, pay etc???

Well...because your husband was in the union he had call back rights, part of the contract, and if he wasn't he would still be looking for a job because they would have replaced him with a new hire at a lower pay scale. And I guess the other benefits are good for you too...insurance at a lower rate, overtime pay and double-time? Whew!... I could go on but I might be wasting my time. It seems you should look at the glass as half full not half empty. I work at Dana and am glad to pay the union dues. The UAW has kept my family from going broke in this terrible economy.

If you asked every employee at dana in etown if they liked having a union it would be about 80% no 20% yes.We have had more things taken away since we went union then we ever did before. No one even goes to the meetings it a real joke.Theres always like seven or eight people there and its always the same ole bitchy people who wouldnt be happy no matter what.If i was you guys i would be happy to have a job.Keep you 30 bucks a month its not worth it.
