Yes there were tax issues. They have been dealt with. The store is being remodeled and should reopen 1st of Nov.

Why they're re opening. I haven't been in years but I've heard bad things about the environment for the animals.

Not having enough money and being a small store isn't an excuse. If you don't have the money, you shouldn't be in business. It's like a grocery store that sells rotten meat because it's all they can afford.

Of course I'm not comparing pets to edibles.

Not to sound like a Peta bot, but people really should be adopting from shelters. You save a life and you're not supporting puppy mills.

The excuse I hear from everyone is that "I want breed X", when the fact is 20% of animals put down are actually purebred.

Just my opinion, but I think saying "I want a yellow lab" is like saying "I hope my baby is a girl with blue eyes".

Anyways, my two cents. But I'm sure we all can see my point on the living conditions.

Not all pet stores support puppy mills. This would be one of them. If you haven't been in there in years you shouldn't be bad mouthing them honestly. People say a lot of things that aren't true.

Sure, not all. But it's all too common. Look up the Humane Society or the ASPCA if you don't believe me.

Also, here's a seven page read:

I'm not bad mouthing the store, or telling anyone what to believe. What I'm saying is, if the store is in that bad of shape, then I don't they should reopen for obvious reasons.

Would I testify this in court?. No. What I've heard people say what be hearsay. But go and make up your own opinion. I'm just stating my thoughts which are only valid if the posts are true.

Bad mouthing would be if I just walked into the store, have heard nothing bad about them, and made up some bogus story. Which would also be lying.

Once again, just my thoughts.

The store will be reopening soon. It is currently being remodeled. The only thing I can say it that the past is the past. The store has new owners and you can't judge a new store by what the previous store was. Etown Pet Center has always been a great pet store. The best one in the hardin county area. Were some mistakes made? Maybe so, but don't just believe what you may have heard until you go to the store and see what it has become.

I'm glad they're remodeling it. The smell of that store, most specifically the obvious urine smells soaked into the floors, needed to be dealt with.

I never bought a dog or cat there, just fish. Whenever I went in they really didn't have many kittens or puppies. The store was mainly fish, reptiles, & birds from what I saw. I also used to get bird food there for my grandmother. Wish the new owners luck.

Every time I went in there, the employees were very helpful. They seemed well-educated on each individual species and devoted tot he care of the animals. BTW, my pets have all come from shelters, but you can't go to any animal shelter that I have been to and get a sugar-glider or a boa. I wish the new owners the best of luck!
