What else has E'town offered besides alcohol? Don't really want my underage children drinking. E-town only seems to be concerned about the 21 and over crowd. Sad:(

What a joke the Etown and Radcliffe stores are. Remember we weren't going to half to shop at raggedy stores like Boston anymore. There isn't one decent liq store in Etown or Radcliffe. Enough with the old "convert a c store into liq store". They will all be outta business in 2 years. Maybe packages will last a little longe cause of the silver spoon, but they wouldn't event up the money for a new sign and name. What a business plan! The chains will kill the independents and we'll be left with a liquor barn and bars after the next vote. Congrats ETown---can't do anything right. At least John O is building a NEW LIQUOR Store not some raggedy converted store.

We will be different than every liquor store in etown; I can promise that. We completely gutted the building, everything about it will be new except the name, signs and bathroom. We agree that the same ole convenience store liquor store model is tired and boring. If you are looking for lottery tickets, marlboro lights, and budweiser 30 packs to go with your pint of JD, we are not the place for you. We will feature craft beer, better wines, liquors and gourmet foods. A 16 tap growler/beer system, large walk in beer barn, lotsa pasta products along with a number of Kentucky made food products. We did decide to keep the name. Packages & more was a well known and respected business in a central location. The name fit within the liquor business and the property is a unique landmark. When someone says "packages & more", most know the exact location. If that is bad business planning and being a cheap ass, consider me guilty. We will be open derby week. Come check it out and say hi.

Randy is looking down on you with such disappoinment, he worked hard to make the great Packages and more and you money hungry kids and famiky members are disrespecting him by allowing such a place to exsist. You should have stayed in buisness as the way it was,it was a great THING and Service TO OUR COUNTY,you have proven that money and greed outways DIGNITY and RESPECT> You wont last, remember everytime a ambulance drives by with its sirens on and a person is injured because of a drunk driver ,or themselfs being drunk YOU may have sold it to them.

I'm sure Randy wouldn't mind another business coming in and converting his store...since it will remain a business and not be torn down or left abandoned...because obviously no one in his family wanted to take it over. I think keeping the name Packages and More is a great idea...gives homage to Randy and incorporates the term "package" because it is a package liquor store. On another note, E-town has no input whatsoever as to who gets a liquor license. That is all done on a state level and they don't have to explain why they make their decision. If a Liquor Barn does come in later, a place like Packages and More will be able to survive if they keep their prices in line with theirs. Plus, it will be a much nicer feel, plus the add-ons, and more personal service.

Is someone spending money he doesn't need to be spending for liquor vs. using it for the needs for his family. Yep, someone is. Is someone unable to handle his liquor and becomes loud and violent with his wife and children? Yep, it happens. Could someone drive and not escape having and accident to be either severely hurt or killed? Yep, it happens. Could someone who begins drinking find himself one day not being able to handle it and becomes an alcoholic? Yep, it happens. When you pile all of your money in front of you, I hope you will find great fulfillment at the end of your life.

The people voted 60-40 to allow alcohol sales. There is no greater and more powerful form of lawmaking than a public referendum. The people have spoken. It is now a legal product voted in by the people. There was no shortage of alcohol in etown prior to october 4. Abuse, drunk driving and bad decisions occurred before package liquor sales and they will continue after. Personal responsibility does not lie with the person behind the counter, it lies within.

Randy didn't own the building it was being leased. His family didnt want anything to do with the shipping business. Good luck to the new store
