The neighborhood is a vinyl village full of GI's and their families that do not care about where they live beyond right now! It is a dump! In ten more years it will be the ghetto.

The septic tanks are not the problem, the problem is that there are too many people living in the houses that are meant for a two adults and two children at most. They cannot keep up with the nastiness out there, and they are overflowing and backing up into houses. The developer, although a crappy developer, is not really to blame here, even though he is getting blamed.

La Vista was a nice neighborhood at first. People cared about their homes and it was not so crowded and full...there are a lot of military families there but they do care about their homes, some of them do at least. Words like Ghetto and dump? Its a nicer place than most others around Rineyville.

Any story you miss on WAVE 3 You can find on their website!:)

like I said it's a dump, and getting worse. Any neighborhood that the houses are nearly all nothing but vinyl is a dump in the making. It is a matter of time.

I don't live in Lavista and still have septic tank problems. The land out here does not have a deep layer of dirt; therefore, the sewage comes to the suface. We need county hook up out 1600, in Rineyville, and out St. Johns Rd. We have invested lots of money of different types of lateral lines because we were told by inspectors to install. There should be a sewage plant built out this way to take care of the problems. after all when it rains and all drains in to the water system, everyone is drinking it. It all flows into creeks. Watch out! don't let your kids play in creeks!

I disagree with you. Just because houses are sided with vinyl there are several good neighborhoods like this. You need to do your homework before you start bashing neighborhoods check out cherry view estates in Sonora its not trashy there, also there is a subdivision in E-Town/ Cecilia behind the BP most of the houses there are sided with vinyl not trashy either......what neighborhood do you live in its got me wondering?

So because there are military families living in the neighborhood that is what makes it trashy....Have u ever served in the military and cleared housing in the military obviously not....MOST military families take care of there stuff and I have noticed that your very one sided and judgemental.

The septic system installer and the inspector also share in the blame.

When was your septic system installed? Who was it installed by? Who was your septic system inspector? If the system was installed before 1980 the Div. of Plumbing inspected it. After 1980ish the health departments took over that program. There is a notorious health department inspector whose character is questionable.

The only person whose character is questionable is the person who is posting all this CRAP on here about the inspectors at the health department. He's just mad because the health department won't let him be an inspector anymore because he threatens people, their families, and their pets. Can't admit when he has made a mistake and move on. I just pray one of these days he realizes he has spent way too much time and energy trying to bury the health department instead of taking a long look at himself and trying to get on with his life and becoming a productive member of society.

septic systems are designed for the number of bedrooms/bathrooms in the plan.some houses there have a "bonusroom" that are being used as bedrooms meaning there are more people than the system was designed for. they were advertised as 4 bedroom but the system was designed for a 3 bedroom

...anything invested in this then why do you want to bash someone yourself? This person may very well be helping others. I am interested in why you want to bash someone yourself.

You see I think the ones who are interested in this particular topix post are one of many(homeowner in LaVista, septic system installer, septic system inspector, plumber, plumbing inspector, builder, building inspector, banker, realator, auctioneer, home buyer, lawyer, media, septic tank pumper, maybe even a politician) I think that just about covers most people interested in LaVista Estates Rineyville KY.

This person is exactly correct. The septic systems out there are designed for a three bedroom house, meaning 4 "full time" people. When there are 5 or 6 people, and multiple teenagers, and an abundance of red clay septic systems will fail miserably. And THAT is what happened in La Vista. That is also why there is a completely different system in that neigghborhood now for the newer houses. That does not change that the place is turning into a dump though!
