Progress is slow. Give it time.
So you are so HAPPY to BY beer. You really don't have anything to look forward to or do you even know the difference. Gosh in a real rut.

Etown has such a different culture. I can't imagine people unable to buy and drink beer at their discretion.

People like to think that they should have the right to tell others what the limits to their freedom should be here in Etown. It really is kind of funny that true Republicans would want smaller government involvement in people's lives and more personal freedom.

Its crazy how so many people on here fighting are using family as an excuse to put limits on the town. Since when is fighting good for raising families? Seriously, lighten up. Sometimes even Mom's & Dad's want to let loose on a weekend every now & again & shouldn't have to drive to Lou to do so. At least we have Heartland Pub, a great hangout with great karaoke. Some of us women that go there are ideal wife material too. We don't all get drunk & party all the time. Some of us just go out to meet new people & socialize. There needs to be other places in Etown to do so.

Well a bar would be a better choice than the no choice that there is now. Who would have thought that the crazy religious people would be setting their sights towards policies that are actually hurting the formation of traditional families.

this vote had little to do with religion. People need to get off that horse, it is dead! Mst of the people were afraid of this vote because of what it could potentially bring. Bars on every corner!!! Plain and simple... You can thank the liquor stores on every corner right now for this... They have made the town look bad, and the bars would make it worse.

Every corner? By my count there are only 5 or 6 stand alone liquor stores. Most occupying formerly empty buildings. I haven't noticed any of them being a nussance or eyesore. Nor have I seen any hookers, bums or drunks moving into the immediate areas surrounding them.

What expanded alcohol has done is bring in nearly 500k to the city in the form of a 5% retail tax. Created 50 or so additional jobs.

You obviously have your blinders on. Maybe you need to get out a little more often, and go to east dixie from around 9pm to 12 midnight....you will see plenty of drunks, bums and hookers walking around in and out of the two new liquor stores down there. Especially Chicken Coup Liquors! They are living in the hotels down there, and have been for quite some time.

Yes, there are only 5 or 6 liquor stores, and they stand out like a soar thumb. Maybe you don't care what your town is turning into, but at least enough do to stop the regression for another 3 years.

Exactly. These rednecks hold the Bible as proof they are right on all they do. Meanwhile the Deacons and Pastors get liquored up during their "retreats". Yep, boys your secret is out. These same hypocrites drink the GOP koolaid about less government in peoples lives and that it is the small business owners who create jobs.

But, these church going hypocrites instead restrict a right to a product that is completely legal as well as diminish an opportunity for local businesses to establish or grow.

Most of the idiots voting no have never read the Bible and formed their own opinion. Instead they only listen to what someone else tells them.

Wow, congratulations! You are a prime example of what is wrong with society. You're small-mindedness and judgmental attitude sickens me. Fortunately, there is a growing number of progressive thinkers to cancel out your ignorance. "Go back in the closet," are you kidding me? With those statements, I can only assume that you would have fit in well in the 1920s, prohibition would suit you well. You're an asshole.
