I was told that just because you have a vacation day in Friday does not mean you don't have to work the week-end. I for one take vac. on Friday to have a three day week-end. The team leaders get their three day week-ends.What else do these MFs want from us? BLOOD!?

You are one of the suck asses they are talking about.
I have worked for the company for 18 years. I would have never thought they would have cut our pay like they did. Was getting 6.5% on my 401K now it is 4%. No raise, No bonus, working 7 days a week 12 hours a day for 15.75. I have never been a union person, BUT after all this, I think it would be for the best if we had the UAW come and atleast talk to us. If we had a union akebono could NOT have made all the changes like they did. It would have gone through the union and VOTED on. We could have decided if we wanted to take the pay cuts, NOT the Japaneese. It is sad to think that we once worked for one of the best paying companies in Hardin County. and NOW we are working for the LEAST paid companies in Hardin County. What a Joke. Amazing what GREED can do to a company. Remember when the employees were the most important asset ambrake had? To all of you who say "if you don't like it quit" you can kiss my A$$. As soon as the economy picks up and people start hiring and companies start moving to Hardin Co. There will be a lot of us quit. We built the company to what it is and the reputation it has for being the best in the brake market, and this is the thanks we get for all our hard work. Give me a Break.

you have so much to be thankful for , i hope the economy does pick up enough for you to leave, so much negativity, is there anything you like about your job. you should stop and think of all the good things in your life and be happy. I hope you wake up and smell the coffee and realize they could have done worse, what if they closed the doors and everyone lost their jobs....... I hope you have a merry christmas and a happy new year even though your so unhappy with your job. by the way if akebono was union do you think they could/would have bought that company with cash to make more business? Also maybe they had to save some money for a bit, and later start giving out raises again..........sorry for your pay cut too!

I was interviewed by Amy Smith and Ken Rogers, does that give you a hint as to how long I have been there? You say I am a suck up. I was just as pissed about how things went down, I think it was bullshit. But after almost a year of hearing people complain, I have had enough. No I don't like working for less money but compared to others I am thankful I am still employed. A good friend of mine lost his job with a different company, I just helped him move what little they had left out of his house into a trailer. My brother's company just closed last month, and at 57 years old he is going to have a hard time finding anything. He is lucky to have his house paid for and can survive on unemployment for the time being. Yea, I don't like what has happened to us and if something better comes along I will take it, but before everyone starts whining about what they don't have, think about what you are able to keep. Yea it sucks, but it's damn sure better than wondering where you will live and can you afford to go to the grocery.

bullshit, are you serious, we are never getting the pay back. carl lay said if it was up to him we would have never been making that much to start with. we went back to 2001 on the pay scale and haven't had a raise since 4 years before the pay cut , even in two years if they gave us the pay back we are so far behind. we are not getting it back or they would have said so, then everybodys moral would be better. the only reason we got back a low 4% 401k was to get quality new hires. because hell, even mcdonalds has a 401k. did you see the advertisement in the local paper. school reinbursement, wow, how the hell can i go to school working 12 hours a night and living 45 min away. overtime picks up and they start the school scam. you are living a fairy tale...

Does everyone know that Akebono N.A. pays 6% of revenue (sales) back to Akebono Japan as a royalty. Yes that's right, Japan is making 6% on everthing made in the USA. It's their way to shovel the money back to Japan at our expense. This way Akebono N.A. can show a negative profit while Japan gets our money. Because Akebono N.A. shows a loss, they can us for more pay concessions.

I think the US Federal governement needs to aware of this game.

No, it's a 2.5% royalty and it's called "being the owner". We work for the man. If you owned your own company you'd want to make money from it too. Feds do know about royalites.
Sorry.

That's funny, the Akebono sales & profit plans use 6% for royalty. So where does the other 3.5% go?

By the way, the royalty is also a method to avoid paying income taxes in the USA. This hurts the country.
