I would not want to work there. A friend of mine works second shift and they treat him horribly! They never have enough staff because they treat their employees terrible, and everyone quits or goes to the doctor to get off for weeks. A new person is in charge now and its worse then ever. THEY DO NOT TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES KINDLY!

Does anyone know the differnce between clay cottage and shelby cottage? My boyfriend was in shelby cottage and recently got switched to clay cottage. Is there a difference in how strict they are? Is one worst than the other?-- Anyone who really KNOWS what they are talking about please answer. Thanks!

Nah, there ain't no difference in the cottages. There's four cottages, Clay, Breckinridge, Shelby, and Boone. The only differences is the kids in it. Clay and Shelby are normaly the worste ones.
Just an opinion

"Guess Again" is absolutely correct. I wouldn't recommend working there. I love working with the youth; it's the staff that are intolerable. The superintendent does not have any people skills, nor does she know how to prioritize: always sweating the small stuff and never dealing with the truly important issues. Her boss, Theresa Morgain, and Morgan's boss (Bob Hayter) back her up all the time, whether or not she's in the right. They claim that "she is the law" at Lincoln Village.

they are REALLY awful to the kids, and if you step up and try to BETTER things for the kids they screw with you HARD. not a good place to work AT ALL. unless youre on the "inside" loop they treat you like shhhhit. its sad cause you cant even help the kids without them making your life miserable.

seriously, you believe this?? seriously?? You have to remember that these "kids" you speak of have been placed there by the courts. Why is your crusade to make it better by serving cake and ice cream all the time. This is their sentence~!!!!! Jesus, f'n
Christ!!! What is wrong with this world that these bleeding hearts want to make it a life of luxury for these bozos?

Guess what, THEYRE STILL CHILDREN. The courts do a lot of things they have no business doing. No, I do not think these kids need to be running free after some of the things they've done. But they DO deserve to be treated like human beings & children. And as much as you mention Jesus maybe you'd know he FORGIVES people. Who said any of the shit youre saying anyways? Did anyone say give them cake and ice cream and throw parties??? No ignorant ass, they didn't. I'm simply saying they still deserve to be treated like people, and they don't get that there. Not to mention, the strand was about WORKING there and I also was speaking about that. Which has NOTHING to do with whatever you said.

Further more, Lincoln Village was placed there as a REHABILITATION center for youth, not a prison. Treating them like they're in prison isn't going to rehabilitate them, it's going to harden them more. That's JUST what they need right? So they can learn how to be better criminals. Sheesh.

you're no different than the parent who let them get out of control. you don't need to be working in a place like that with that attitude. i wonder how you got past the interview process. you're warped. they should fire your a$$.

How am I warped, really? Please show some kind of logic behind the shit youre talking??? Nothing was incorrect or untrue about what I said. So, please, fill me in genius. Just because you disagree or don't know what you're talking about automatically I am wrong and warped. Really? You're ignorant. If you don't work there or haven't stayed there SHUT UP because you have NO earthly clue what goes on so I don't see how you could have much of an opinion about it.

What do they do there that isn't "treating them like people?" Maybe if you tell us we would see what u r talking about but as it is you just look like a liberal wuss whining about how its mistreating a kid when you discipline them. But I'm willing to give u the benefit of the dooubt, maybe they really do horrible things there, hat do they do to the kids that u object to?

They want to have them sit still for hours with their hands at their sides and no speaking, they have to ask to do things like SCRATCH. I understand they must have extra rules and regulations bc of the reasons theyre in there, but hell in PRISON you dont have to ask to scratch or sit still for hours with no allowance for speaking. It just isnt natural for anyone, much less kids, and even considering the crimes they comitted theyre still kids and act as such. They aren't allowed to voice any other mistreatments either, and if they do theyre punished for "making things up". They aren't allowed any human interaction except sitting and looking at the other kids. I know they shouldnt be horsing around, but you cant expect a room ful of teenagers NOT to speak or move for hours you know? RARELY do they get physical activity. I don't even mean playing games or something, JUST LET THEM MOVE. Moving is kind of critical to physical health dont you think??? Theres a shit ton of other things I could name, I'm just saying they dont get decent treatment. Men in prison for MURDER get more freedom... don't you think that's a little much? I'm totally in favor of moniotring them, rehabilitating, and having them serve out their punishments. BUT when they get treated worse in a rehabilitation facility than they would in prison... I think that's a over the top. Honestly it's just a "good ol boy" workplace, if they like you they let you do things, if they don't they won't. Yes I know, this is how the world works. But still, they should be allowed to scratch their heads or have exercise just like anyone else. THEYRE HUMANS! Just because they comitted crimes doenst mean to treat them like animals, that puts us in the wrong too, we dont have the right to treat them like they dont have rights anymore. No, they shouldnt have all the rights as everyone else if they couldnt obey societys rules, but there are just certain things as a person you have a right to do, even in prison... so why is a juvenile center treating them harsher than that? Because they can and they get away with it and nobody has the balls to step up and fix it and when they do they get punished in the workplace.

I'm not trying to make light of their crimes, I'm really not, I just feel that if we as free people mistreat because they are kids or because they comitted crimes that makes US shitty too.

I disagree and I think making them so miserable in what is supposed to be jail will most likely be a good deterrent for them not to do anything to get sent back. But if you think what you do is so bad then maybe you should find a different job?
