Great store and great guys to deal with! If they don't have it, they can get it. I've done quite a bit of business with them the short they have been open and wouldn't go anywhere else. Biggest + is customer service......something that is hard to find anymore. Check them out and buy with confidence!

Sporter Express is a rip off.
I ordered an item from them by their on line store several weeks ago.
The following day the amount due was deducted from my bank account for the purchase of the item.
Since then I have not received notification that my order was received. Nor have I received a shipping notice.
I have contacting their customer services via e-mail and received no response.
Guess they don't give a shit about some forty dollar order or the "Damn Yankee" who's money they took.

50/50 for me. Their inventory system seems to be such that most of their inventory appears to be "in stock" until you add it to your cart where out of stock items are flagged with a "***". So you remove that item and continue shopping until you find a suitable replacement.

I was willing to overlook that minor annoyance so I placed my online order, deposited money in my account, and waited. I immediately received an email that said they received my order. After a few days I noticed that the funds had not been deducted from my account and I had not yet received an email that said my order had been shipped. I looked at the email again and noticed that it said "awaiting cc processing" at the bottom. So, thinking I may have made a typo on my credit card number, I called them. Apparently the main item in my order was out of stock. They anticipated receiving it at any time however and they would ship immediately. I asked if I could substitute a similar one (different color) and he agreed and completed the order. I received an email that said the order was "processing" but didn't get an email that said it was shipped. The order arrived a short time after.

So that's it. A bit annoying but the source of my frustration appears to be their inventory system. Even when everything appeared to be in stock there was still a chance that something was on backorder. In the end I was very pleased with what I purchased. I think the ordering process could have gone smoother. Especially if I'd received an email informing me that my order was delayed because one of the items was on backorder but due to arrive at any time.

These guys are great! I went in to purchase my first handgun - I already knew what I wanted and they didn't try to talk me into something else. Very helpful. Good prices and service. I will be back.

They donít keep anything is stock per say if you order from them they order from Midway Usa or other companies and mark up the price, it's just a small company with ALOT of used parts (asking brand new prices) and boxes and stocked items in re-taped boxes like someone bought it and returned it, like I said order from Reputable company never order from a shop especially this shop> Midway-usa, cheaper then dirt brownells or from the manufacture: i.e. mag-pull, osprey, bravo company Rock river Arms etc.... you get the picture, theses companies will treat you right get your part(s) on time for a fair price and have great customer service should a problem arise refunds or returns with NO Problems

Been there twice. The middle aged guy with the goatee is pretty cool. We talked about 870s for a while, and he shared his opinions on adjustable stocks. Not my cup of tea, but to each his own.

Went back a second time to inquire about smithing services for my large-ring Mauser. Fat guy refused to do the work. Told me it would, "... Be like putting expensive rims on an 85 Honda Civic." That's cool if you dislike the make and model of my weapons, but to downright insult me and refuse hundreds of dollars worth of work I would have paid you for? No thanks, I can take ky business elsewhere.

The first few times I went in there I received no greeting even being the only one in the store. Staff was arrogant and "know-it-alls" and acted as if I was a inconvenience with my few questions. They obviously get zero commission for sales. The youngest employee is more or less the "problem". However the staff was semi knowledgeable. The middle age gentleman was probably the owner and a pleasure to work with. Also knew his stuff. Average prices but any work done on ur weapon and they will nickle and dime u to death

I've been here several times and have been let down each time. Along with inventory problems and out of stock on several items, the things in stock will cost you much over retail or over a competitors cost. I support capitalism, but walking in the doors at sporter express, one would assume they have the very last of such item. I've never experienced price gouging or highway robbery at this level.

For instance, this assault weapons ban/scare in the current times is causing prices to rise. As to be expected, however, sporter express must be the ring leader! A few weeks ago,$350 would buy a generic nothing special complete lower. They are now wanting $599 for one! Even when the manufacturer will have them for the same price as they used to be! What a joke.

Several things has aggravated me about this store and I cannot see how they remain open. Apparently people in Etown shop at kygunco, budsgunshop, Etc before paying premium prices. That's all I can imagine.

Going to sporter express? Grab some lubricant, you are gonna need it!

This gun store is a rip off and will not give you customer service or satisfaction.

I tried to sell a pistol here and they would've given me next to nothing for it. I was told the used value is significantly lower than new. But I was shocked to see an exact model of said pistol in the case merely $30 less than new and it was marked used! Knowing what they offered me, they would have made more money off of an individual and a used firearm, than ordering through a supplier for a brand new one.

I was offered hundreds of dollars less than that used pistol.

I will not be purchasing anything else from sporter express. Take advice from others on this site. Buy with confidence elsewhere and be wary of this store. Hardin county needs more advertising from competitors.
