May the Spirit of God pour out an extra special blessing on you and your church. A building is not a church, it is the people within the building.
God Bless you and may God Bless the nay sayers that read this thread.

I feel more than abundantly blessed to be a member of Valley Forge FWB church! Our church is nothing about number, but ALL ABOUT CHRIST and HIS Spirit. It is my understanding this a community sponsored event in which our facilites are being used, but all I can say is no matter what the cirucmstances, if it can show some children in need and a family in need, the love of Jesus Christ, then I will support it. Too many times to be counted, it has been said by our Pastor Randy Johnson....."Valley Forge Church is not a museum for saints, but a emergency room for sinners"! We all fall short of the Glory of God, but I am so thankful I serve Jesus Christ "who looked beyond my faults and saw my needs" and I attend the greatest church that teaches that concept!
"Where there is no vision, people perish". So thankful Valley Forge has a vision for our future generation!!!!!!!!!!

Matthew 5:10-12 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11″Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. 12″Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:44 “But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you

"just a word" said it best with the proper prespective and focus on what it should be. My mother was the most godly woman I have ever known and my very best friend. My late parents were in the ministry and visited lots of churchs in this state and other states. If the spirit was in the church wherever she was she would know it and was not ashamed to shout and praise the lord. My father built the church where my husband and I attended for 40 yrs and before he died he told me not to stay in a church just because he pastored there years and ago and built a new church. He was a pastor and minister for over 50 yrs. He said "honey, if the lord is not there and you can't feel the spirit you need to move." He reminded me it was only a building and I owed nothing to him. He said "I visited a church where the lord is really blessing and you can really feel the spirit. He was totally opposite of what my husband's parents felt. And so it goes, if it was the building (church) we would still be in the one my father built out of respect for him, One more thing, it's not only the people in the church and how they feel, it's what you bring with you. I suggest if you are a "nay sayer" you need to ask forgiveness just as we did especially if you want to get a blessing and feel that wonderful sweet spirit.

THis church ROCKs alright! Just give it time and see how much it rocks. There are too many homeless people and families in REAL NEED here in Elizabethton ,than an UNMARRIED woman who got with an UNMARRIED man to have multiple children to get Government help and publicity. This is just a PLOY to get more people in,,,,,,,why , then, aren't OTHER churches helping? So THIS is the ONLY GOOD chruch in the city or county? ANYONE who can't see thru this is blinded by the devil, what about the one person's comments about the lady whose house burned down and attended there and her sisters were members there? That person said NO ONE helped her at that church and her house was even in that community, can someone PLEASE explain that to me? THAnk you.

I dont even CARE to tell ANYONE my name if they want to know it. My two small grandkids go there to church and as far the POGA mission, the other Grandmother told me they cut some mans hair which was to his waist,,,,,hadn't had it cut in years and he came to church the next Sunday which is WONDERFUL. Thank God, but most people up there IF they go to church, they go to the local churches cause the winters are so bad, they can't get out sometimes for weeks. Why don't they go cut some of these homeless people's hair who live in cardboard boxes and under bridges and empty buildings right here in town? Maybe these people would let the church vans pick them up and bring them to church so they can meet the Lord! Just wondering....no problem with the church here. I just don't go to that church,,that's all,,,,,been there a about 7 times for my grandkids and NEVER felt the spirit really but then maybe it's me,,, but I DO feel the spirit of GOD where i go.......EVEN When you walk up the steps outside. TRy the Hampton CHruch of God just ONE time. Love in Christ
ps... we all need to wake up friends, the LORD is coming soon!

Yes HE is coming soon and you had better get ready to meet him. From reading what you wrote you are no more ready to meet him than some of the rest of us. For your info, there's not many snows that keep people from Poga in, if they want to go they dig out and go. I have people that go way back in Poga's history and there are some very Godly people up there.
Where is your church in Hampton?
May God forgive you and those that feel like you, my BIBLE does not say pick and chose those that you help but to help all his children. The people on this earth are his children whether they are living for him or not. He created them and gave them a choice of the high road or the low road, the routes they chose to walk is of their choice and if it is wrong then they will answer for it. But you will answer for your words and deeds.

You know what,I don't care about who is doing what or anything.I have the Lord in my heart.People will say how can you love something you can't see.I feel the love in my heart, and the people that don't feel it,do not know what Gods love is.I can feel the Lord in my heart.Jesus is my hero, and I can not wait to meet him.I have been to 3 wars, and my hero is my Lord Jesus, and what he sacrificed for me.I have a Crucifix on my rear view mirror so I can always be reminded of his sacrifice that he gave his life for me.So let us just let our Lord lead us and we will follow him by faith and not by sight.

I don't go there, have never been inside the building, don't anything about either of the situations you speak ofand it is of no import regarding this. If you have a need to know about the out come of these two situations, please ask the parents of your grandchildren that go there or call the pastor and ask.
From my understanding of all this is that the churchbuilding was being used for the event. Either way, why does it bother you so much? If you are a child of God it really shouldn't, if it does then go to your knees before him and ask, he will show you.

well i am a stoney creek resident and i think it was a great benefit for the family i did not attend my home church so i could go and support randy johnson and the great church family at valley forge freewill. they do great things through jesus christ at this church. naysayers should go attend, you might just receive a blessing to. the money raised was aewsome and i am so happy for family, they deserve it no matter what ethnic background they are or the color of their skin. God made us all not just us white folks but every color and ethnic group. people who bash on this site ought to be so ashamed and ask god to come into your heart it is much better on this side of life. these people deserve help they did not choose to have so many babies.
God bless
Thankful

I came across this thread and had some questions since I do not know the parties involved. What I do know is I saw an interview with Josh Smith and Ms.Broyles/Modern Woodmen on WJHL encouraging people to come out to this church benefit. From what she said, she approached this church because of its capacity and asked to have the benefit there. I am trying to understand what all the hostility is about. Is it because of the family that needs help or is the hostility directed at the church or it's pastor? I was not born in Carter County and am interested in finding out why all these people on here are so bitter. Is it because you begrudge this couple/quints the help or because this church hasn't helped you in the past?
It would appear the thread got off track. From what I seen on tv, Ms. Broyles approached the church just for size and location. Why are some of these statements not being directed to Ms. Broyles or Modern Woodmen?
I realize alot of people are in a financial bind as well as myself. Being disable and having problems just paying for all my meds. But, I do
not begrudge anyone getting any kind of help from anyone. I do try to be a good christian and I know I serve an AWESOME GOD and he can do anything. I depend on him. He will provide. I would like to hear something from Ms. Broyles or Modern Woodmen since they are the ones that appears to have iniatiated this benefit. The bitterness in this thread is so evident and not directed at the people who instigated the benefit. All I can assume from the comments are jealously of this Davis family or you have asked this church for money and been refused for some reason or other. I am interested in why the misdirection of who is responsible and why the bitterness. Truthfully, it would make me want to visit this church to see how and what it does; and actually it's the people in the church not the pastor that has control. He brings the message sent from God. If you can enlightment was to why people are bitter or jealous I would be grateful. My personal viewpoint, not knowing anything about this is that as christians we can not have bitterness in our hearts. I realize some of these statements were made from person or persons that do not go to church or don't claim to be a christian. But the ones that professed to be a christian should be honest with themselves as to why these comments on this thread. Thank you very much for allowing me to express my opinions and interest.

I do have one additonal comment regarding the orange cones. I recall having seen them. I do not think anyone should object to maintaining safety when you have children or large crowds. I did see where this church was located and appears that they needed them..to save one child from getting hit by a car is worth it. In my hometown this was normal at services. Thank you again and may god bless each one that is in need and he can help and forgive the bitterness in your heart.

Why didn't they have it at the local VFW,they've been having Mexican weddings there all summer and have to have TWO police escorts. But there is PLENTY of room there or the National Guard , or the Armory? Funny, Mrs. Davis, you can afford the internet but are about to lose your home??? I don't understand why your boyfriend doesnt keep those sweet, innocent little babies up. If you can't afford children, use birth control! Once a deadbeat Dad, always a deadbeat dad, who is going to help you all out in 3 or 4 months now? Just because of those innocent babies.

Dear person,( I don't know how else to address you) MY MOTHER was born in Pogo, her mother and father were, her grandparents as well- this family history goes back way more than 150 years. Have family history documenting this, so I think I know a little more than you if your husband only has 70 years of living there. I am 69, so enough said. YOUR CHRISTAINTY IS SUDDENLY GOING DOWN HILL WITH ALL OF YOUR DEEP DOWN ILL FEELINGS. Many say that they are coming representing God BUT your words say otherwise. God Bless you.

There is such ill will coming through your words--What is making you feeling so mean spirited about these people? From your note I get the feeling that someone picks up the grandchildred and takes them to church or they might not getting to learn about the LOVE of God.
I offer a prayer for you right now. I PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND REBUKE THE SPIRIT OF SATAN THAT IS HOVERING OVER YOU AND CAUSING YOU SUCH ILL FEELINGS. PLEASE JESUS RELEASE THIS PERSON FROM THIS HEAVY BOND. AMEN!

May all God's children pray for the ill feelings brought about by this kind deed being done. Lady please let Jesus wash these bad feelings from you.
By the way, all you folks that have like feelings please feel free to claim the POWER of God over these feelings. Several you come to my mind as I sit here.
