Total jerks! They have refused to pay off a trade-in vehicle. I will NEVER deal with them again! I hope to get somewhere with an attorney.

I have worked in the auto industry most of my adult life and had my stint with Grindstaff in the early nineties when Wes Hambrick was still with him. Wes was great but Steve was and is a total jerk, business practices constantly on the verge of illegal and sometimes totally illegal.

i have always had my car serviced at grindstaff by a most reputable mechanic. he was the only one that i had my vehicle serviced by, i took my car in to be serviced and they told me the mechanic was on break, when in fact i had another employee tell me that he no longer worked there. i DID NOT leave my vehicle and went in search of this mechanic. i found him at another reputable dealership and will NEVER EVER take anything to grindstaff again. the mechanic is a little farther drive but he is well worth the drive and is very honest.

I test drove a new vehicle from Grindstaff and they let me take it home for the night. While I had it, it seemed like the sticker price from Chevy was too high. I looked up the MSRP from the Chevy website, and what Grindstaff was representing as the MSRP was $1,500 higher than the Chevy website. I brought it to the attention of the salesman, and he acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. He then pulls out the "invoice" that was higher than the MSRP from Chevy. I just left the place, with the Boss tailing behind me wanting me to stick around.

I went straight to Bill Gatton, and their sticker price was accurate, and they immediately offered me a fair deal.

That's the last time I ever walk on Grindstaff's lot. He's a friggin' crook. I wonder how many ignorant people he cons on a daily basis.

What he sells, how he does businesswise was not the original query but the man's character and as an employer. He is a real A$$. I worked cleaning his properties long, long ago. A low grade sob and a man with money behind much illegality. Show him your money and he'll be the Smiler to you. His specialty: big time Backer. I thought everyone knew this; how do you think he got into the Bigtime?

An aside: this comment may likely be deleted TOO. Did any of you know that so many comments AND discussions are being deleted by that god of a Moderator. Just who is the Moderator of this Topix, I ask?

I too have worked for SEG. I worked there for a number of years actually. I never had a bad experiene while working there. Could always get off work when I needed to. The sales staff and managers were very good people but as all things slowly come to an end I left when pretty much my whole sales manager group left. He keeps hiring the same sales people back the ones that 'make that money' but are very disrespectful. While I was there I watched so many sales people come and go. I have worked at other dealerships doing the same things I did at Grindstaff and guess what its the same everywhere. Everyone wants to talk trash about SEG because he is a well known man in carter county but ya know without him are school systems wouldnt get the extra money they get. SEG gives alot to the community but everyone wants to talk as if he is such a bad person. Honestly, most of you have probably never spoken to the man. Yes, he throws fits but tell me what man doesnt? Seriously people grow up and tell him to his face what you think about him and stop the rumors. He is a very good father to all 3 of his children with 2 more on the way. On a personal level you couldnt ask for a better person. As a boss he is just that a boss. I mean what do you people really expect?
