Jeremy Simerly...He did his student teaching at Harold McCormick I think. Then, he got a job as the Special Education teacher at West Side.

Has anyone asked to see DOCTOR Wandell and Culbert's evaluations as compared to Mr. Mitchell's? Especially the evaluations from the perspective of the faculty and staff at their schools. I think not! I'm sure Mr. Mitchell is too smart to hang around with the two knuckle heads. Both Wandell & Culbert's brain's put together wouldn't equal one whole brain in a dumb person's head! Harold McCormick is having to put up with an idiot for a principal...He can't handle discipline, parents, children...and God knows that he's not the least bit professional. He treats on faculty member one way, and his close friends that are faculty & staff, which some staff are related to him a totally different way. Of course, he couldn't pay any one to have an affair with him. God only knows how Wandell got someone to have an affair and marry him. Just a thought!
This is just mean!!! My children go to HME and I cannot brag enough on the education that is provided, as well as, the wonderful job Mr.Culbert does as principal. I have always been told if you can't say something nice not to say anything at all.

Has it been mentioned anywhere in this thread that MR. ALEXANDER is the one who called the meeting so he could hear from the public? Most of this thread has been Ed-bashing as though he's trying to hide something. Instead HE is the one who asked everyone to show up so he could explain his reasoning.

To those of you who are playing the veteran card for ECA I must reply.
I am very grateful for the service of all veterans...including ECA. He had a very difficult and dangerous job. He was there protecting our country: the land of the free and home of the brave. Very ironic, considering no one is free to have an opinion other than his. His method of supervising ECS is Little Hitler's way or the highway.
I give respect where it is due. I respect the men and women who have and continue to serve and protect our country. I do not respect anyone...veteran or otherwise...that lives his life destroying the lives of others.
On the other hand, I almost (and I say that lightly) feel sorry for him. He thinks he is god...he will answer to a Higher Calling for all the lives he has tried to destroy.
My prayer is that the citizens of Elizabethton will do the right thing. He needs to go and let the healing begin in ECS.

It was brought to the community's attention that WSE elementary was broken into recently. The offenders were children of school staff. Mr Mitchell stated that he requested assistance from Mr Alexander in the matter but received none--perhaps suggesting the issue was covered up.

Without requesting names of individuals, I think the community deserves to know if these students received punishment in accordance to school policy? If not, will this "blind eye" administrator will held responsible by the school board? Will it be reflected in his (Alexander's evaluation) and way merit in his upcoming contract negotiation?

I will have to say I was shocked by the way some people acted at the meeting at West Side tonight. Mr. Mitchell how unprofessional your actions and by the way that school that you said is your school or your home tonight is not it belongs to the taxpayers of Elizabehtton. Also, not all parents that were there were pro Mr. Mitchell! They came to hear what had to be said and the the mother that spoke about her son with the allergy issues that was booed. That was sad. 6596

There might have been 5 parents there in opposition to Mr MItchell. I agree, Mr Mitchell got a bit heated and emotional but mercy sakes...it's his job and reputation at stake. Have you, WSE Parent, ever been relieved from your job without cause?

On an added note, regarding the mom who spoke out against him--some parents say that her son has a real discipline problem? Did you know that he was suspended for shooting a double birdy at the school bus driver?. I do believe the attorney was hired to say the photograph couldn't prove which finger he was firing off. I think the couple of boos came from parents who knew the situation. May be more to the story than we know.

In response to the comment about fourth grade complaints about homework. Homework can be excessive from one teacher in particular but that is teacher issue not a principal issue. I simply wrote a letter to the teacher asking why? And that's as far as it went. What other people did, I have no idea. I feel two lessons a night in math plus a 12-16 page packet due on Fridays is a little excessive for one subject. I support Mr. Mitchell 100% and the fact is the homework issue is just another ploy that Ed is using to make Mr Mitchell look bad.

So what exactly happened at the meeting tonight? I wasn't able to go cause my son is sick. Was anything decided or did ed explain a legitimate reason for his actions? And did that person who supposedly was going to be accompanied by "security" show their face?

Ed needs to go and NOW. He is and has been the real problem in the Elizabethton city school system. He's worked his "hit list" with the exception of one employee and he's afraid of the press on that one. Many good teachers and Admin. gone because of his ego.

Everyone is so ready to boot Ed out the door but I've yet to hear of a suitable replacement. Who within the system would everyone agree on or at the least be ok with taking over?

Quick question: when Dr. David Roper fired Ed as principal of EHS, how many public meetings did he call to explain himself?
ZERO.
Also how many times did Ed grab the mic at a public meeting and shout down Dr. roper?
ZERO.
Just sayin'.

No Ed organized the walk out of his students at EHS.
The school system has remained in near constant turmoil since Ed removal as principal. He is always at the center of the controversy, the other players change but he is always right there at the center. Even those who stood with him in the past----Hyder, Armstrong, Baker, etc, see him clearly now,

HORSE. CRAP. No one organized us to walk out in 2003 except a few student whose example we followed. When the protests reached Ed's lawn he told us to go back to class. Disagree with him now all you want but stop your lying crap.
