Beware, you can't push a man like Alexander to far he will not go down alive, he has PSTD, can anyone remember how he acted in Tim Davis room and what happen to Tim Davis. He will act and be declared insane.

Does anyone care that Mr Ed (knowing he set the meeting) went to the VA the same week to get his meds and probably had a 4 or more calming meds kind of day! No laughing matter but you could tell by his eyes at the meeting. If he was such a good SI then why doesn't he let his staff talk about ideas that doesn't concern the new stadium without the fear of going out/transferred of the system? Elizabethton needs leadership not a mental case that might blow up at a moments notice during board meetings. There is proof of that ask anyone that has attended board meetings, so you want to talk about Mr Mitchell cause he only has done what he has seen done many times in front of him.

'Firing' was intended to be a joke. Mr. Culbert asked her not to come back and it's a big shame for the teachers and kids.

HMC Parent, All parents of HME students need to go to the school board meeting on Thursday to show support for Mrs. Peters and show the school board that we're not going to continue to put up with Alexander's crap anymore. Eastside parents need to show up there as well because the next person on his "hit list" may very well be your favorite teacher or principal. No one is safe in that system. If you make him mad, you're done for and it's not right. Our kids need to see us standing up for them, for what's right, and for their teachers. And our school board members need to know that we aren't going to continue to sit back while they allow Ed Alexander to embarrass our community anymore. We HAVE to vote in school board members who have a backbone and I'm afraid there are only a couple on there now who have one.

Whether you have children in school or not, everyone in the community should come to this school board meeting, not only to show support for the teachers (they're scared to death), but also to let the board know we know that Ed is a ticking timebomb and we don't want our tax dollars to continue being spent to make our school system look like a bunch of hillbilly idiots who don't care about education.

Couldn't have said it better myself. We as a community need to realize there is an ongoing pattern here with Ed Alexander. It makes for a very toxic work environment to be constantly looking over your shoulder and watching your every move. If you upset the administration in ANY way, you better watch out b/c you have an automatic target on your back. Mrs. Peters experienced that one firsthand just yesterday (see today's Elizabethton Star). If you speak to or are friendly with someone who is being targeted, you are then considered "guilty by association" and then have a target on your own back. They will do anything to make your life miserable until you either quit or are fired. Unless you are tenured then they just play chess and move you from school to school. I'm sure there are plenty of teachers out there in the school system who have experienced this but are too scared to speak up in fear of losing their jobs. It's sad really. When will this pattern end?

I think you must be thinking about the Roper administration. I do remenber seeing good teachers moved from East Side and Harold McCormick as cover for sending Mr. Alexander to Siam. I remember just trying to fly under the radar and hoping to retire in peace in a few years. I remember sweet people being hurt for no reason. Friendships broken and lies told by people we trusted. I have not always agreed with Mr. A but I have talked to him several times about my concerns and he listened politely. I just wanted to give another side to the story. Thank you.

Former teacher, I challenge you to take time to find out all the people who Alexander has fired or moved for little reason (mostly to put friends in their position or to pay back favors). At present time, I know that there are at least 15 such people (some who still work for the city and some who moved on).....if that's not a pattern, I don't know what is.

Ed has been exposed. IF what he says is True, he was negligent in his duty to NOT HAVE documented it in the administrators file. He is just ripping anyone who gets in his way apart by flexing his dictatorial reign.
Ed Must Go. This isnt about Mitchell. It is about ED.
This is insane. There is no duty to document sexual harassment. That's just exposing you further, and violates the harassed person by having her name in the file. With the crazy gossip birds on here you can see why no same administrator would do that to a victim.

Is Elizabethton really so backwards that people are going to get behind a sexual harasser hooked on Lortab and upend the whole school system AGAIN in his defense? My God.

Get A Job, you are so biased in favor of Ed your last statement makes you look silly.
Of all employment claims, sexual harassment ALWAYS should be documented. IF the school knows about it and doesnt act on it, they are opening themselves up to huge liability.
Do you know what meds Mr A takes? Would you call him hooked on them just because he takes them regularly?
Get A Job you are definitely in the minority.
Ed has lost his support in this community.
And apparently he doesnt realize when its time for him to retire.

Alexander trained Lacy. Evidently, Roper trained Alexander. I remember those transferred during that time. East Side lost a wonderful and loving teacher. My two daughters were in her class. Friendships were lost because of that, but I guess Lacy is sitting back laughing his but off at this mess. He really helped to create this same mess years ago, but ECSS is still to this day in the exact same mess. It's called the "eye for an eye" or "good ole boy system" or even better, "do as I say or you're gone" school system!

Nope. Didn't live in the area during the Roper admin. Don't even know the full story on him. I'm talking about the here and now and what I have directly observed. But teachers continue to "fly under the radar" and plenty of good people have been hurt by his lies.

Both of my children have been in classes that Ms. Peters has volunteered in at Harold McCormick. She is a very classy LADY. If she was not a classy lady, she would've trashed Mr. Culbert and Mr. Alexander when she went to the newspaper. It says it all when Mr. Culbert is quoted in the paper as saying, "I feel sorry for her becuase she has DONE good for the school. In the next sentence his pompous a$$ shows his true colors by saying, "it is not 'a don't EVER come back', it is more of 'let time heal and see what happens'." Why in the heck would she EVER come back to a school who has Mr. Culbert in charge? She could run Harold McCormick with her eyes closed way better than he could EVER dream of running it...Dr. May & Phil Isaacs...Where are you? We need you!

Just read the article in the Eliz Star about HMC losing a wonderful volunteer. THis is such a shame. The article was full of lies. Shame on Brian Culbert. His mouth was moving but Ed Alexander's voice was coming out of his mouth.

As to Mrs. Peters bringing a petition to school for signatures for a candidate to get a name on the school board ballot - a couple of years ago Rita Booher and her sister Teresa Dugger set up a table to gather signatures at the first day of in-service for teachers. Talk about offensive and peer pressure???????

If Mr. Mitchell was sexually harassing a colleague and she complained about it directly or indirectly to Mr. Alexander, why was she punished by transferring her? Why wasn't Mr. Mitchell punished at the time? I can't believe Mr. Alexander would be stupid enough to allow sexual harassment to continue even after she was transferred since this would make him and the city open to a lawsuit. I'm pretty sure sexual harassment is a violation of civil rights. It appears that Mr. Alexander wasn't doing his job properly if he allowed this to continue on his watch. He shouldn't have waited a year or two to deal with it, nor should he have given Mr. Mitchell outstanding reviews.
Perhaps one of his supporters should send him a link to this site so he can see what many people believe about him. Maybe he needs to look at himself critically and make the decision to do what is best for the school system.

Let the house cleaning begin. Central office (EA and RV), Elizabethton HS (CP), TA Dugger (RL), East Side (JW), West Side (DM), Harold McCormick (BC). This is a good start. Start new and get caring administration that will do their jobs and quit being "Alexander's lap dogs." Time for change and it begins at the top and works its way down! They have to go!!
