We have beautiful spots in our county. My favorite for it's beauty would be; the area around Wilbur Dam driving towards the lookout. What's would be yours?

Yes that's a nice area. Anywhere around the lake is pretty. There are some very pretty spots of the river on the walking trail at sycamore shoals too.

If you can stand to hike, Laurel Fork Falls in Hampton is lovely. You just round a bend, and there it is.

I'd love to go but last year someone kept breaking into cars of people who were hiking. I swear you can't have anything or enjoy anything without some no account piece of trash trying to take it from you.

It's been so long since I've drove to the Roan. Thanks for the idea, that's one place that's slipped my mind.

I remember riding through Ripsheen Mnt. as a kid. I remember a small lake and it was gorgeous.
How long does it take to ride across? I know you can start up the mountain just below Whitehead Grill, but not sure were it comes out? Anyone know...

The leaves whould be peak this weekend around Ripshin lake. If you go up roaring Creek road at the Whiteway, after about 9 miles it comes nack out onto 19E at Tiger Creek just above Hampton.

Have a nice drive

If you don't want to hike all the way to Laurel Fork Falls, you drive up to Dennis Cove and access them from the other side. Still a good walk but not a two hour hike.

I have wanted to visit there forever but never knew of this route, thank you for helping. Are there anymore falls locally besides the Blue Hole?
