The Hostess story is starting to become typical in this country. The company told the employees they were struggling. The Union kept the workers on strike. Stupid people, now they have no job. The same shouldhave happened to General Motors. The reason they were failing was because of the inferior work of the employees. The employees did not even take a pay cut when our taxes bailed them out. The typical American is too lazy to work anymore. It is much easier to blame it on the 1%, or get disability. Previous generations would be disgusted by how we have ruined this country.

Sorry, I digress,,,,,lol. I'm more of a lil Debbie man myself, but sorry for you twinkie fans.

Hostess was ran into the ground by incompetent, greedy managers who had no clue how to run a business. When they initially went into bankruptcy in 2004 the union members actually gave up some pay and benefits to keep them solvent. As time went on, the company's management did nothing to gain more foothold on market share (i.e. no new products, no new marketing strategy, etc). Part of what drove the latest strike was the workers felt they were being lied to, especially since some of the executives gave themselves 80% raises last year...I would be pissed as well.

As far as GM goes, you can read up on their management failings as well just by googling it...in a nutshell, they were the lazy ones and didn't try to innovate and were making crappy, ugly cars nobody wanted to buy. Had very little to do with unions and apparently nothing to do with "lazy" workers. By the way, I don't like unions myself...I think they had a place back in the day but there's plenty of job regulations nowadays that render them unneccesary.

You are lost dude. Hostess has been trying to sell the company with no one interested in buying it. What does that tell you. Also, GM built the shitest cars around. That is totally the fault of the employees. And making $50 an hour? Piss on them and you.

Unions basically suck. They used to be a good thing, but in the past 20 to 30 years, they have just turned into mostly big business. Union dues are outrageous and they don't even uses your dues to help the employees, they give them to political candidates.

I will never be in a union again. Main reason is I cant afford the dues.

Depending on which company buys the hostess name, it is highly likely that Hostess products will end up being imported from another country.
Way to go USA!!

So, the Hostess CEO has previously filed for bankruptcy protection correct? Or, should I state that the Hostess CEO has asked for "assistance from the federal government" in the past & now the present. Hmmmmmmmmmmm..........I believe that everybody else should know his comments about government assistance by now. I also love how these CEO's get on TV & state that nobody has ever helped them achieve financial success. Pathetic & Piss Poor, but typical in the fact that nobody seems to see his/her own faults and failures until in a time of need.

Unlikely...most bread/snack cake vendors rely on regional bakeries to fulfill their supply chain.
