When will they finish the investigation? Its been 10 days. The general public knows what happened, why not the police yet? The neglect of this pitiful mom got her child killed. If it takes this long for a very simple case, I cannot imagine how long it takes for a complicated one. No wonder the public has no faith in the PD in Eliz. Sheesh......

Exactly my point!! We already know she lied on local news, I don't even think she knows what telling the truth is. And just so you know, my info came straight from Tetrick, and believe me I would trust them before even trying to believe what tiffani and chris said.

I am not here to argue but Memorial does not pay in full on children's funeral. I know because I lost my oldest son in 99 and they did not pay for his me and my family had to pay for it.

I may be wrong but I think after they finish there investigation they have to present everything to the grand jury and then it will go from there...and if the grand jury says they have enough evidence to charge whoever then they arrest the person...Like I said I think this is right it maybe totaly wrong...

The police DO know what happened as they have surveilance footage of the entire thing from 4 different angles, citizens bank, regions, walgreens, mcdonalds, AND numerous statements from people that were unfortunate enough to witness this tragedy, and are forever changed and scared as a result and will never be able to erase the images from their minds. But I do agree that the police need to come out with it already and charge the person(s) responsible, and put the truck driver's mind at ease by releasing him of any responsibility, as he was just an innocent kindhearted person at the wrong place at the wrong time. We need to hope and pray that justice is done, and that the courts do not allow a murderer (tiffani) to continue to walk the streets of our community, and be able to put other lives in danger, especially josh's sister. She has been "in trouble" numerous times before and always seemed to weasel her way out each time, and the end result of her mistakes turned into the ultimate tragedy. It has got to STOP!!

So sorry for your loss. I myself as a mother could not imagine what a family that loved and cared for their child must go through when they lose their loved one. I don't know for a fact about memorial but I do know for sure that tetrick pays for the entire funeral when its a young child and I hope that maybe memorial has changed their policy since 99 and that they do cover them now, but again I say I DO know that tetrick does and that info came directly from tetrick funeral home.

Not true! I know for a fact that Don Tetrick has ALWAYS, ALWAYS charge $0.00 for children's funerals. Since the beginning. It's something that isn't advertised, yet they are proud and honored to offer this to ALL families who lose a child.

They lied to you. Tetrick has NEVER charged for a child's funeral. EVER. Ask anyone who works there, and they will tell you.

Call Tetrick funeral home (the number is in the book) and ask them. You will find that you have been lied to.

I don't know about Tetrick if they don't charge for a baby or child's funeral that is very thoughtful of them. Memorial does but it is not as expensive as if it were an adult. Thank You Guest U really appreciate that. My prayers go out to the truck driver and his family. It is so hard to lose a child under any circumstances. I lost my child in a horrible accident so I know how they feel. It just breaks my heart to hear stuff like this.

You're welcome! It also breaks my heart when someone so young is taken and in josh's case it absolutely kills me because I believe it was 100% preventable had the mother actually been like most mother's and watching over her child and concerned about his safety more than drugs or whatever else, he would have never been in the road without her having a tight grip on his hand and making sure they had a walk signal and that no traffic was moving. The only thing that gives me peace of mind is knowing he is in a much better place with all the love he could ever want.

I agree with you , "mouth flappin ole cow"!
We as citizens, need to be the voice of this poor child. When the mother went to the media over 3 times, she put the ball in our court to judge her and her actions.
Believe me, this wasn't some woman that was caught in a horrible circumstance. What's making this community so mad is the actions of how she acted BEFORE and AFTER this ordeal.
I wouldn't be able to put two feet on the ground the next day, raise my head up, or imagine how life could go forward. Most normal mothers would do the same. The thought of a mother going to the media and making appearances like this is a show....is WRONG!

This community would never degrade this lady if ample amount of wrong wasn't staked on her plate from the start.
Again, someone needs to be the voice of this child. Think goodness for video, and witnesses that can tell the story as is.
Again, I don't think anything negative would've been said even after her "clouded thinking" that day. Although, actions after the fact just showed some very serious problems, and it was plain to see. You don't have to be a genius to know the approach their taking.
May God be with this truck driver, and witnesses for they've endured a terrible situation, and hopefully peace will come with time. This wasn't his fault, and I hope he knows this community doesn't think it was.

That is so true. He is with the good lord above and is playing with all the little children that are there. And I greatly believe that you put your children before anything in this world. The lord blessed us with children and we should do everything that we can to keep them out of harm's way. I also believe that this could have been 100% preventable.I would not wish this kind of pain on my worst enemy. I really wouldn't. It's sad cause within the past week and a half 3 little lives have been taken do to situations that could have been prevented. May these precious angels rest in peace.

I feel terrible for any mother that loses a child. it makes me appreciate and thank God for my daughter even more.

I think people are outraged of the manner in which the mom decided to handle the situation.
None of us are perfect parents, I know I'm not, I try, but terrible accidents happen everyday, even this preventable one. And thats whats sad, it was preventable.

I've heard so many things, she was on drugs, she wasn't with the boy when the truck hit him, she was texting....I dont know, I wasnt there.
I do know,at a busy road like that, you dont let go of your kids, not even for a second.
But the way she handled herself on tv is something I will never be able to understand, and not even one tear. I'm sure she is hurting, and I can't even imagine how I would be if it were me, but to think of her on tv, all but saying outright the driver did it on purpose, makes my skin crawl.

There was also a WCYB interview with a quote about hearing the diesel start up and yelling to stop. If you are within reach of a child, why wouldn't someone be using that second or two to grab the child versus yelling at a very loud (diesels are not quiet), very high off the ground commercial truck? At this busy intersection, were there not pedestrian traffic signals that an adult should have been observing?

Posters "the truth, just me and after the fact" very well said in the past few posts. I don't feel I need to add anything else other than I myself and probably most of our community will not let this get "swept under the rug" as it has affected us and maddened us to the point where if the police don't seek justice, we may have to step in and do something community wide to ensure that tragedies that are preventable like this don't happen again, and noone else's lives have to be forever impacted by something of this magnitude EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I have ever heard of or been a part of anything that has made me feel this strongly about something to the point of actually wanting to do something (not sure what yet, still thinking about it) to protect the rest of the people who actually have morals and who love our families and children and who do everything in our power daily to protect them. Although I know I'm not perfect and neither is anyone else, but awareness and prevention are so very important. I know legitimate accidents happen and I wish they didn't have to, but tragedies like this are 100% preventable and too many people have been affected and maybe even had their lives ruined because of it and I refuse to sit back and be silent ANY LONGER!!!!
