Does anyone know why churches seem to be having so much trouble these days? Pleasant Beach, Immanuel & Hunter First are among the ones who have lost members, etc.

Just saying not judging, just maybe they need to put GOD back in the front cf the Church . They should step aside and let God`s will be done.Just saying . Pray about this, Amen

Ever since the Church began, the Devil has always managed to worm his way in and cause trouble and deception in various ways, so it's nothing new. But his tactics change to fit the times. The problem in this day and age seems to be a different form of idolatry that most Christians will totally deny if confronted with. Way too many now have come to worship the Church itself or the Pastor above God. Churches try to compete with one another for members rather than work together. Church leaders are spending more time criticizing or ridiculing other area "competing" churches than just doing God's work. All you hear these days is "our church is better because we do or don't have a certain style of music in our services," and "We are right and everybody else is wrong". and "We need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a new buildings and remodeling, etc." All of this trouble that is happening in area Churches is a direct result of that type of thinking. Area churches should be spending much more time and money in the local community with outreach programs, food pantries and help for the needy, etc. but they are not focused on those types of things and God is trying to send a message, but no one seems to be getting it.

Another point to add to the previous person's post..all of these Churches are building these big gymnasiums, fitness centers, hospitality centers, etc. They say it is for the "youth" to give them a place to hang out in a Christian atmosphere..and I understand to a point...BUT...is all of this really necessary?? We certainly didn't have these things when I was growing up and I don't see that these things are keeping today's youth from straying into the wrong path any more than previous generations.
What about spending this money on a center to help at risk children, the homeless, etc. and have the youth spend time volunteering on these things..wouldn't they get a lot more out of something like that than just giving them another place to play basketball?? Just sayin'
