I have a really good ideal for ms clean slate! Why don't you go to the dollar store and get you a box of cake mix and see if you and mr hamburger whipper upper see if you can make a cake out of a box of cake mix, 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of oil and see if it turns out like the lunch company's cake. I DON'T THINK IT WILL HAPPEN! And as far as too expensive it's $3.25 for a BIG SLICE, I would love to go to other food businesses and get that kind of cake, pie or ice cream with a cookie for that matter for that price. The food there is GREAT, and the service is pretty fast for home-cooked, home-made meals. The Howells are really good people, they are always nice and friendly. I understand he had a mild heart attach a few months ago, and his wife had a heart attach in December that was really bad. Their daughter, Jackie, was told a couple of years ago she had M S and she recently found out she was pregnant. Why don't you people leave other people alone, these really are good people. And there are alot of young grandchildren that could be hurt by all this. Some people need to learn to think about someone other than self!
Yes they do claim the cakes to be "homemade" and they charge WAY too much for a Dollar Store cake mix cake. And hell no they couldn't be too great to be molesting kids in any situation. I don't care who they are and how nice they are. A pedophile is a pedophile and evidently his family supports him. I would never eat there and for sure wouldn't want my children being around there.

If anyone happens to have the chance to visit Apple B's in Elizabethton, be sure to try to go Tue. thru Sat. and ask to sit at Chris or Missy's tables. They are very friendly, remember you each time you return, they even remember what we eat and how we like it and know right off each time we go, they are on top of your meal, if the slightest thing is wrong they take care of it and are super nice. As for Captain D's, don't know anything at all about there, don't do see food but I can see how your experience would turn you away from eating there. Do you guys like Hunan's? We loved it at first but I can't seem to eat it any more. we do eat a good bit at Yamoto's in JC across from the Med Center. My kids love to eat at the Med center speaking of that.

I dont care how long ago it's been but, I do remeber when a resturant owner (in Hampton) is convictied of Sexual Molesting a foster child and seeing his picture on the TBI list for Carter Co. and is as old as a grandpa. Sorry, not the type to forget things like that. Dont know the child ,the man, only what I read in the paper and the face I seen on the computer....dont take a genus, just someone that thinks everyone has the right to know, as a citizen and comsumer.

Again, people must not know the whole story and have they ever advertised the cakes to be homemade? I do know you can make a lot of different cakes with a cake mix as the base for the cake.

Did anyone ever have the chance to eat at Quarterbacks in Hampton speaking of Hampton resturants? It's closed now but you can still get food catered from the owner. You can still call the Quarterbacks phone number and it goes to his cell phone and he still caters. I only ate the smoked turkey but my kids loved the BBQ beef and pork. Now those beans of his were awful and I can say that safely here because I told him so and that was okay. However, my husband told me that hunters from all around would by those beans in big jugs and truck drivers would come by and get gallons at a time. Ugh. Did you guys ever try any of this?

I thought Quarterbacks had some delicious food. Are you talking about the calico beans? I thought they were pretty good, it was something different, although I do like regular baked beans better. Such a shame they had to close, IMO they had the best BBQ around here, the BBQ pork was mouth-watering. Open back up Quarterbacks, even if it's just on weekends, we miss your food!

now, but I do know the man. And you pitiful, don't have nothing better to do bad mouthers don't have a clue. He is one of a few of the nicest, sweetest, most humble men I know. And for your big fat information I know a whole lot of people. And what it don't take is, is a genius to know you certainly can't believe everything you read in the paper. Just because it's in the Star don't mean it's the gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. But one thing according to the gospel, i do believe it says if anyone among you is without sin let him cast the first stone. Maybe u haven't molested a child but your big long serpent of a tongue is KILLING this man's family, which is a COMMANDMENT OF GOD "THOU SHALT NOT KILL" which to me don't make u any better than a molester. If a places food or service is bad DON'T go there anymore! But if someone has sinned, so U think, then pray for them, another COMMANDMENT of GOD to PRAY for ONE another, maybe start with your selves first. God help all of us!

Well, "Just Sayin' I will sure pass on the compliment to Jeff Miller the owner of Quarterbacks that you miss and liked his food and wish he was back. He still caters as I said and you can call his original business number and get him. Yes, that was what those beans were called, Calico. I thought them oh so yuck but as I said, my husband said tons of people bought them by the jugs. I only ate the BBQ beef because I can't eat pork but my kids loved it so well. My favorite was the smoked turkey. He would smoke and pull a couple turkey breast at a time for us and I'd put it in the freezer. I'd say a lot of people are missing that place. When the raceway Market was open we loved to get one of those huge cheeseburgers from there. You guys try one?

One of my friends worked there and they said it might look clean but in the back she said it was nasty, said if they drop a piece of fish on the floor they would pick it up and throw it in the fryer, the old slaw they would mix it in with the fresh, yuk, said the boys would spit in the fryers and put diffrent stuff in the fryer just to see what it would do, And they would leave stuff laying out longer than it should be,

We will keep the catering in mind for picnics and family gatherings this year! No we never got anything from raceway but I have heard a few people say they had some tasty food also :)

Good thing I'm not much of a seafood fan so we've never even dined there, but oh my goodness how disgusting is that? Glad I'm a bit of a picky eater after hearing this one!!

AS the new owner of Dino's I am dissapointed in some of these comments. To say it is Chef Boyardee is way off the mark. Our sauce is made from scratch everyday as well as the lasagna. we use the same recipes that Dino used when he founded the restaurant in 1963. We use fresh meat that is brought in everyday. we also have hand cut choice ribeye steaks. as far as I'm concerned we have the best food at the best prices in Elizabethton. We also get rave reviews about our service from just about every customer that comes in. I understand that people have different tastes but I don't see the reason to come on here and just start bashing places, especially ones that are locally owned. We work hard to make sure people have a good dining experience when they come in and if something is not right we do what we can to fix it, even though I would say our average amount of meals that are sent back is about 2 per month. I am proud of the job we do and I believe the negative feelings about Dino's are by people who are in a very small minority. Perhaps some of the feelings are political since the previous owner was Kent Williams. I guess I should clarify that the actual transfer of ownership will not happen for three more weeks but I have been running the place for the last 5 years and have worked there for 14 years.
I have eaten at Dino's since Dino bought it when it was Betsy Diner! Every time I come home it is the first place I stop and eat!!!!!! It has been my favorite place to eat in Elizabethton. I have eaten all over the world in my 21 years in the military and when I thought of Elizabethton, I would think of Dino's. That place has given soooo much back to the people of Elizabethton; you should be glad that Dino settled here. I know it isn't the same as when Dino was smiling from behind the counter and it will never be that way ever again!! Every time I have been home and ate there, I have been happy with the food I ate.
You can go anywhere and eat at Applebee’s, McDonalds or any of those national chains, but you can only eat at Dino's or Nanny’s if you are lucky enough to live in Elizabethton!!!!!!!!!
See you all in the end of May!!!!

I will forgive anyone but never a CHILD MOSLESTER, the TBI put this man on the website for a reason, to inform people of the dangers around them. Take your nieve fingers and look the man up, its not hard, just a few clicks of the mouse. As for my tounge it has sinned but a child molester makes the ultra-most sin in MY eyes. How can anyone defend this! Just go on sexual offenders post and go around with the people chatting about this disgrace. Last, lets do pray for one another NOT TO BE SO BACKWARDS, that you dont think of the child that has been molested........STUPIED! Take a good look at his face on the TBI sexual offenders list and then tell me my tounge is spreading gossip!!!!

. First, I do know the man and I do know he is on the list. I just know alittle more about it than YOU, STUPIED!!!!!!!!!! I don't have to take a look at his face I know it, and apparently you don't! I would be the first to stand up against a child molester or abuser either one. But a child molester this man is not I don't care what that TBI list has on it about him or any other list for that matter! You are the nieve backward one, to think that innocent people are accused and prosecuted everyday some where in this country . And that is right you have your opinion and I have mine! Just exactly truthistold, so YOU think, what is it do YOU have to gain by stirring all this up for his FAMILY all over again!!!
