I have to agree with you my children ages 16 and 13 can`t stand it here. My mom seen it comming and left 19 years ago,she lives in a nice house with land around it,less taxes, cleaner air, people who have respect for each other,no litter on the streets , I could go on and on. Most important town officials who actually listen and act on its residents complaints and ideas. sounds to good to be true, I know but I`m startig to think anylace looks better now. I know some will say then leave. My answer to that is I only stay so my children can be close to dad and grandparents. When they can drive we are out of here. The quality of life sucs here!!!! Very corrupt little town, its sad.If you don`t know someone you don`t matter.

So true. If you have the right connection, you'll survive in this town. Why is the waiting list for the Senior Citizen take such a long time. My moms on the list for over 2 years. Sold her house cause taxes were to high. Rents an apt. & that keeps going up. Some of the people that live in some these bldg. do not belong there. Its all connected.

I CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE THE DAY WHEN BAYONNE BECOMES TRENDY. I'M ALL FOR THE M.O.T BECOMING HIGH PRICED CONDOS. MAYBE THEN WE'LL START TO SEE CUTE BOUTIQUES, COFFEE HOUSES, TRENDY SHOP AND MORE RESTAURANTS (SOMETHING NOT ITALIAN!!). THIS TOWN NEEDS TO CLEAN UP IT'S ACT AND START GETTING A MOVE ON THINGS. LOOK AT DOWNTOWN JERSEY CITY, AMAZING WHAT THEY DID! BAYONNE COULD BE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT. THESE SENIORS ARE THE ONES RESISTANT TO CHANGE. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT... IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN ANYWAY. AND WHEN IT DOES, YUPPIES LIKE MYSELF WILL SMILE WITH PLEASURE.

Its good to be a yuppie racist. Whats gonna happen to you when you become a senior? Do you think that your so called thoughts will be intergrated with the next stand of excellence? Your position is reflected with the Real Estate developers simply said , expand at the cost of your own greed and at the exprnse of those who are in need.

What's with this word "TRENDY"? Is that some kind of "YUPPIE TALK"? Are you prejudice against the Italians? The food is one of the best and most healthiest. Ask your Dr.So why don't you stay in good old NEW York and develop that area, Mr. Real Estate, hungry for bldgs., not caring about people. Shame on you...Time goes by so fast. Live to enjoy it.

I couldn't agree with you more, this city has deteriorated at a rapid pace. Yet our cost of living as rapidly risen beyond our means. We have no services anymore, we can't even keep our parks clean, and have you seen in front of stores and not just on broadway but throughout the city? They are filthy and the inspectors the city has are older then I am and can just about get out of car let alone inspect. Our pride that Bayonne once had that we stood firmly behind is gone, the young people are leaving Bayonne in droves and allowing less then acceptable residents to move in. Our economy is destroyed we are loosing businesses left and right ICI is leaving after how many years they are closing. All the NEW business that was promised never came to frutation. Crime is increasing to such an extent people tend to stay in their homes. We are slowly but surely becomming a Welfare/Geriatric community. The TOWN that all envied is no more, I understand change but SEVERE DECLINE it's a sad sad thing.

Joe the corruption is the same as it has been for decades Hudson County in general is among the most corrupt in the nation, that's why you will NEVER see a Candidate from Hudson County run for president, sad but true, THEIR closets are filled with skeletons. What is really sad is how rapidly Bayonne is declining, I have lived here all my life and it's sad to say I can't wait till I leave here later this year, this is definitely not the Bayonne I knew and loved. I had a pride about my city that other residents of other cities didn't have, they envied us for Bayonne's beauty and culture now they point fingers saying TOLD YA ONE DAY IT'D HAPPEN, for a small city of approximately 100,000 people we have destroyed what we had and our leaders have allowed it to happen due to their greed empathy and corruption. Sad
