when you are a slave to the government you dont deserve any more than that.
You people talk about how your ancestors were treated horribly by slave masters, well todays generation on welfare, food stamps, and section 8 live JUST like those of yesterday.EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE other than you dont have to pick the cotton?

1) slave owners allowed their slaves to live on farms in a substandard home so they would have a sheter over their heads.
today we know that as SECTION 8

2) slave owners fed the slave so they wouldnt starve to death
today we call that food stamps

3)slave owners clothed their slaves so they wouldnt have to walk around naked
today we call that smash and grab and welfare payment to buy clothes

4)slave owners had all the slaves houses bunched together they knew as ROW houses.Today we call that section 8 apartments

5)SLAVE OWNERS gave the slaves some meat and stuff when they slaughtered a cow or hog.Today we call that WIC.FREE MILK AND CHEESE.

6) SLAVE OWNERS knew how to contact their slaves when out in the field by ringing a bell in the yard

7)SLAVE OWNERS took their slaves to town to help assist with the products they needed to buy for the farm.Today we call that RAPID TRANSIT

Think about these and you will see if you are on welfare, food stamps, section 8 rent and get WIC or free milk and cheese, and any other thing you can possibly get that some tax payer somewhere WORKING is paying for, YOU ARE A SLAVE TO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT and WORKING CITIZEN..
Section 8 is your reparation you ungrateful lazy shit

I do not buy the "anyone can become jobless, fall on hard times, and need Section 8 and government assistance" BS. Let me tell you why.

I have been unemployed and unable to find a job. Do you know what I did when I could not find employment because I was "overqualified" due to my education.

I went door to door and mowed lawns. I went door to door and did painting, carpentry, cleaning, plumbing, pet care, etc... I made jewelry and wooden figurines with a small hand carving set I found at a garage sale for $3 and I sold my art out of my truck (which I bought doing door to door work).

When I couldn't find employment after completing my college education, I tutored school kids and taught trumpet, going door to door asking parents if their kids needed help with their studies.

I worked my way through college, working at the campus cafeteria and paid for my living expenses with what I EARNED. I didn't live above my means. I still don't live above my means.

I earned my scholarship by studying hard, writing essays, and did not borrow money from the government. I earned a full ride music scholarship, not because I'm some amazing musician...but because I put in the time to study and to practice my instrument WHILE working to take care of my mother who had cancer.

I didn't have unsafe sex and I didn't get knocked up. I paid attention to what I could afford to pay attention to which was myself and my own future. I didn't bring children into a world where I could not afford to give them what they deserve.

I went a period of two years after college where I could not find employment so I put myself out there and STILL worked. I couldn't find employment as a teenager and young adult and I still WORKED.

Just because you can't find employment (a lot of people can't these days) is not an excuse to not work.

The person who said that the OP is just "jealous", because their hard earned money isn't as good as government vouchers, is a seriously sick individual. Your government vouchers for Section 8 housing is someone else's hard earned money. The only reason Section 8 exists is because of hard working people paying 20%- 50% in taxes so that you can say that your vouchers (aka - THEIR tax dollars) are better (for you) than their own hard earned money.

There's no excuse to not work unless you are a handicapped individual or are elderly. Anyone who accepts Section 8 and government assistance who is able to get out there and pound the pavement everyday is stealing food from the hands and mouths of the elderly and disabled.

You have Section 8 not because you have fallen on hard times (everyone has hard times)...but because your morals are so low that you feel comfortable making the lives of the elderly and handicapped MORE difficult.

My Mom was diagnosed with cancer and could NOT work due to her physical state. She NEVER received government assistance after losing her job due to cancer. My father grew up with an alcoholic father, poorer than dirt. He started shining shoes at local barber shops when he was FIVE. He started working at gas stations and automotive shops when he was TEN learning a skill. He has been unemployed MANY times but he has never NOT WORKED.

You find something and you do it. Even if you only make $1 that day.

You don't live above your means. You work for what you have.

It's a pitiful and shameful state that so many people don't understand this.
