I am so tired of the corruption in the city of Elizabeth. Especially the part of the city I live in. William Gallman our council man has done nothing except for his own personal gain. VOTE LESTER DOMINGUEZ (column A) on June 6!

I know! I met Lester Dominguez. He came and knocked on my door. This Gallman guy has been our councilman for four years and I just saw him for the first time two days ago. I am definetly voting for Lester Dominguez.

William Gallman worked for the for the park commission, and as the same time worked his way into a friendship with Red who was working very hard to clean up the area around Catherine and E. Garand St. After a period of time it became clear that whatever Red said in getting the area clean up of drugs, Gaullman used the information to give to Mayor Bollwage to benefit himself. Now that Red has past, what is Gaullman doing now? He has a reletive on the police department who walks off the job when she wants to and goes home sick... nothing done, overlooked. Rumor she is now with baby! Let me say the criminals do not have anything to fear of this officer. Thanks to Council Gaullman. The 901 club did not have any thing to fear either since Perkins' bother owns the bar.... did anyone ask why a certain police office was in the bar while drugs were being sold? What police official told him that he did not have anything to worry about?

Well sure vote for a kid who is being puppeted by Rafael Fajardo and the rest of his cronies to who are simply opportunistic power-seekers who are really undercover Republicans. What is really sad is the fact that this kid is just that "a kid!"

Now I may agree that Gallman is no prize but this kid would not be the one who will make decisions or partake in change or be a part of any change in this City, it would be Rafael Fajardo (who by the way, has gotten rich off of the naivete of others),
who will be dictating to this kid from his newly formed Realty Company consisting of the present school board members trying to take over the City for their own selfish aims.

I can't believe how naive people are in this City to not realize that this kid has never walked in ALL of the areas of the City, only the 3rd Ward and partsof the North End where alot of his compadresl live; he truly does not represent the entire 5th Ward.

Lastly, perhaps you should look at the record of what accomplishments will be shown in the long run and while you're at it, look at his voting record and see that he like Rafael Fajardo votes Republican, but claim to be "Democrats for Change."

It's a Tale of Two Cities here in Elizabeth, and the public is being fooled by the Board of Education politicos whose endeavor has only been to take over the City!!!

Well I would think that the objective was to clean up the area. However since this has been accomplished in his capacity being the Councilman(not Red), what's the big deal?

As for the Perkins family, I am in total agreement....it is ridiculous, but she is not the one running for Councilperson of the 5th Ward. do you think having an inexperienced kid who is being puppeted by Rafael Fajard a better choice since he is about hiring only a certain group of people, or giving his family no-show jobs and possibly setting himself up to garner more money for construction contracts to be proposed by this kid if he wins a council seat?

I am tired of our Board of Education using public funds for political purposes and I am tired of cronies like this kid who has no independent thoughts or political stance other than what he has been instructed to do by others to be representative of only certain groups of people!!

We can certainly agree that politics in America stinks!! But let us remember that it was origianlly based on CIVIL SERVICE....now it is about POWER and MONEY!!!

So you are voting for a kid because he knocked on your door? Where are the issues and your knowledge of what one has done for the City compared to what one propses? Do you really think that if this kid wins, he will make a difference? He is vying for this position because he is being groomed by Montiero and Fajardo to do so, not of his own volition!

If all it takes for you to decide how to vote for a person is to knock on your door....well, this City is in a bad state.

Here's a question for you.....what politician do you know that has not run for office that did NOT do it for personal gain? Do you really think this kid does not see any personal gain in running?
Corruption in politics will continue to run rampant until the American public realizes that this country years ago made mention of the words, CIVIL SERVANTS....but if you are paying them salaries comparable to CEO's then perhaps it should be understood the political game is about selfish aims of power and money.

I say, reduce the pay of all politicians unless it is the only job they have. Most of them have other jobs or professions and with the money they are being compensated for as civil servants is far too much for their so-called, PAATRIOTIC SERVICE!

Since Friday, I have received phone calls from an "Unknown Caller" (probably from the Lester Dominguez Camp) claiming to have 6 positions open for a job and the registration was to have started at 1 p.m. Sat., April 3 at the Sampson Senior Citizen Center. I have learned there were an estimated 50 or more people of all races there to apply for this so-called "position," to find out it was a hoax!

I being aware that it is a political season and there are those in Elizabeth who will do anything to garner publicity, and lie among other things to try to fool the people of this City to win an election, I was not fooled by this form of shenanigans realize when I saw the Fajardo Realty office filled with the Lester Dominguez supporters it appears they are aware of this happening.

I think it is a disgrace for these people to use the unfortunate circumstances of those who are seriously looking for employment to stoop this low at what cost?

Gallman arrived at the Center to notify those who were online, that this was a hoax and he apologized to those constituents who simply were looking to take up what they thought was an opportunity to find employment. I tis my intention to enocurage Mr. Gallman to have this investigated and possibly see if some sort of criminal charges can be brought against the perpetrator(s).

This goes to show those who think or believe this is the way to run a campaign for public office should be conducted, then Elizabeth is in for a bad run.

Eduardo Rodriguez announced today that he is seeking the position of Councilman representing Ward 5 of Elizabeth City. Eduardo is vying for the Democratic nomination, which will be determined in the June 8th primary.
“I’m running as member of the community, as someone who knows the residents of the fifth ward as more than just voters,” said Eduardo,“they are my friends and neighbors.” His family moved from Galicia, Spain, to Jackson Ave in 1973 where he was born and raised. He is running with his own personal funds and is not backed by the City or Fajardo.

As the owners and operators of the Madrid Restaurant, Eduardo credits his family for instilling in him the importance of hard work and education. An Attorney, Eduardo is a graduate of Rutgers University, with an MBA from New York University. Eduardo got his first sense of what it means to represent a group of people as an intern to local Democratic Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and looks forward to bringing that experience to the City Council.“It’s a large responsibility, having people place their trust in you like that,” Eduardo added,“It’s an honor I won’t take lightly.” Eduardo then continued his service working with the Covenant House on important social issues affecting our young adults and assisted parents in creating a charter school.
“I love this community, I was born here, I was raised here and my fiancé and I intend to raise our own family here,’ Eduardo concluded,“I am excited about the next several months as I work to get my message out and become your voice in city hall.”

Look Forward to feedback and questions...

Eduardo, your credentials are impressive. Who are you running against? Although I'm in the 3rd ward, it's nice to see a "non-partisan" candidate in Elizabeth.

Thanks... I am running against the incumbent Bill Gallman and Lester Dominguez... Knocking on over 5,000 doors and meeting every person (not just voter) in the community... i got a late start because i took the bar exam at the end of February but I know I can win... lot of people voted for a candidate because they did not want the other one to win... sad but true...

Phoenix54,

You are absolutely right, and obviously are aware of the sad state of affairs in Elizabeth.
I see the persuaders up there had no response to your posts. In case Eduardo doesn’t know, or the new ploy is to pretend to be a neutral party, like they pretend to not be “Republicans”. Have you seen the Bogus media articles on the subject? They claim that “Democrats for Change” is an “upstart Group” Democrats for Change? These individuals have no political affiliation other than their own self-serving interests. They aren't Democrat, Republican, or Independent. Just when you think they're Democrats, they "Change" to suit their ambitions and their pockets. They're all part of that political octopus from Elizabeth you mentioned, that wants to take over the city. Here’s a partial list:

Jim "Slime" Devine: NJ Record "reporter" and Democrat reject who supported Republican Christie for Gov. He writes bogus articles for the anti-city hall/Lesniak camp cause they knew better.

Lisa McCormick - NJ Record (rag) owner/publisher and Devine boss. She’s running for Union County Clerk.

Elcy Castillo-Ospina: Elizabeth Board of Ed member. Supported Republican Christie for Gov. Fajardo tentacle.

Armando DaSilva: Running for 3rd ward councilman. Elizabeth Board of Ed member: Supported Republican Christie for Gov. Fajardo tentacle.

Lester Dominguez: Running for 5th ward councilman. Fajardo tentacle.

Carlos Lucio: Principal of School 27 in Elizabeth. Running for city council. Fajardo tentacle. There’s a “rumor” that he was caught in his office in a “compromising position” by a janitor, but the board covered it up.

They meet at 151 Elmora Avenue, Bob Jaspan's place. Elizabeth Board member's Rafael Fajardo's friend. The Democrats for (spare) Change are the opposite of what they claim that "Democrats for Change is dedicated to restoring public confidence in our government by eliminating the corrupt influence of political power brokers and undemocratic party bosses. With your support, we can reclaim our party and our nation."
and the opposite of Democrats. RIDS and no upstarts, but the S.O.S. from the same old BS artists. Keep Ralph Froehlich and Joanne Rajoppi, at least with them you know exactly what you're getting!!! Vote for the incumbents, keep out the riff-raff, and, as Christie said… VOTE NO on the SCHOOL BUDGET. Why they going against Christie now? Cause of our money.

What an outstanding and exemplary bunch to have running a school system and a city. They hide behind the children and shamelessly use them like human shields as terrorist Jihadists would, for their false arguments against the city to further their selfish aims.

A political favor or appointment here and there is one thing. That’s human nature, and to be expected. Hiring friends and family for your business is completely appropriate and natural. Abusing your elected office to confer positions and promotions upon an infinite number of friends and family, conferring financial and political advantage to yourself in the process, is a different and unethical matter entirely. Not only that, it’s against NJ Board Ethics regulations, but no one challenges it (no proof), and they operate in a manner that skirts the law.

Another thing they depend on is the combination of voter apathy and ignorance in Elizabeth, and that if these parents don’t care about their kids they sure as hell ain’t gonna come out and vote for School Elections. So they get their minions to go out and vote en masse and they win. Of course they wouldn’t be true to themselves if they didn’t pick up busloads of ignorant voters and drag them to the polls to vote for who they told them to or gave them a trinket in exchange for they vote.

EagleEye,
Thanks for writing some truth... a lot of people do not know about the puppets who are running... lester's motto is priceless... it includes independent... LOL... from who? the democratic party?
Got an email about a three way debate on april 29th... I confirmed and so did Fajardo, i mean lester but gallman has yet to respond... thinking of writing Gallman a letter with a carbon copy to all the local papers asking him why he will not attend the debate...
anyways, finished up knocking on adams, jackson and van buren, fairmount, and louisa this week... i am getting a good feeling from a lot (not all...) of the people and voters... they like to see a young man (turn 32... not that young) running with no political strings in his back... if anyone would like to support me and let me put up a sign, just email me rodriguezforcouncil@gmail.com
thanks and look forward to all intelligent comments...

Eduardo, if you're the fine, hard-working man you have been to accomplish all you have, then you deserve to be allowed an opportunity to continue your hard work and accomplishments in the service you pursue. An MBA fron NYU alone is a highly marketable assett, and why someone with your resume decide to run for city council in an environment muckier than the Arthur Kill is both crazy and admirable. Whether you win or lose the election, you're still a winner. Best of Luck.

As for my rants against Republicans, I am a Hardball Democrat (after Chris Matthews). I have many Republican friends and family. When they point their finger at Pelosi, I point mine at Palin. They like O'reilly and Glenn Beck, I like Orbelmann, and Ed Schultz.
At the end of the day, we have more in common than they realize ;0) but getting them worked up in the family discussion is half the fun. These opportunistic others, though are a different animal. They play any side of the coin, and change therir true colors like chameleons, and chase only after the green. I admire Bollwage for staying true to the Democratic party line, even if it didn't look so good for Corzine. That is being true to your family. As much as you might disagree, or see where they are wrong, you stand by them because you know they're one of yours. You don't go running to the complete opposite. As Ronald Reagan said "The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally — not a 20 percent traitor." So if Christie said to "Vote NO" on school budgets and that Unions are the problem, why don't these BOE Christie backers in Elizabeth follow their candidate in attacking the EEA and implying to vote no on the school budget? Ummmmm. Yeah they'll back Christie, as long as they can mae a buck off of it. The school children and taxpayers are just collateral damage. Vote NO on the School Budget!

And if you renters in Elizabeth think you're immune, your landlords will just pass on their tax increase to your rent. As for the owners, why give your money to unscrupolous idiots? Vote against them and vote em out. This is the first positive step. This is what first must be fixed in Elizabeth, beofre we can talk of an exchange of ideas between the parties to benefit our chikldren, our taxpayers, and our communities. Eliminate the character assasins, the negative, bottom feeding, self-serving unethical hypocrites. Then we could have open and honest debate about what is best for the children, for the taxpayers, for the communities, and serve as an example of how things should be, instead of what life is like at Exit 13 of the NJ Turnpike!

EagleEye, thanks for the encouraging words...

The BOE lost an incumbent and the budget was voted down... I hope it sends a message to the BOE that we are tired of the same old inaction...

I hope this mindset carries into the June 8th primary... I am running b/c sick and tired of promises made every 4 years and no one keeps them after they win... The only promise I am making and know I can keep to the people of the 5th Ward is to always listen to their concerns and represent you at City Hall. Any other promise would be a lie b/c it takes teamwork to get stuff done...

A positive attitude starts at the top... If the councilman does not care, then why should the people care? I can go on and on but I hope people of the 5th Ward realize that they have a real choice this June 8th... No hidden agenda or secret alliance with the BOE (lester) or City Hall (gallman)... I want to create a positive attitude and show them I care...

Feel free to email me rodriguezforcouncil.com

Thanks

Eduardo, the board did not lose an incumbent. The one who lost was Eddie Branquinho. He was the only one that did not go along with the BOE and back Christie. It was political payback. Didn't you notice the they had Donoso along with the other 2 Board incumbents taht did back Christie? Donoso has been trying to get a position in politics for some time now. Last I knew he's a Republican, but doesn't hide it like the others. The political winds were in his favor and they took him on board (literally). As for the school budget vote, the ever arrogant board will now count on winning via appeal, by counting on Bret Schundler, and presenting it again as a second ballot question.

My NO vote had nothing to do with Christie's agenda, as the BOE would have most believe. It had to do with the issues in Elizabeth. How the BOE backed Christie for their own political gain and are 10-faced politicians, then still wanted us to pass the budget and keep the gravy train flowing. The BOE wants to build 4 new schools, while other schools in NJ are closing, salaries are being frozen, and jobs eliminated, the BOE would build and spend. Spend that money on the kids, school programs, and keeping teachers, and not on another building to grant more money to cronies, buy more favors, and appoint more friendlies to add to the minions. That would also help keep charter schools out. Sorry, not with my money, not this time, I can't afford anymore of their self-serving projects, that are always tied to the lie "It's for the kids". If it's really for the kids, let them put their money where their mouth is, and make sacrifices and keep doing right by the kids with what they have. Bring the grades up, stop teaching to test. Everyone who voted keep an eye out for the question to come up for vote again, tell your friends, I'm sure they'll gear up better for next time. If they didn't get the message this time around, get the word out so they'll be reminded next time.

EagleEye,

thanks for the information... was unaware of the politics behind the candidates...

As for Puppet,

seems like he is posting all around the net... LOL... as always, lies and venom... UNLIKE my candidates, I do not hide where I have interned and worked before... I interned while in Law School for Annette Quijano and the Law Department for City of Elizabeth... All True...

However, I did not get paid $69,996 like Lester Dominguez did in 2008 for Elizabeth BOE ( http://php.app.com/NJpublicemployees/results.... ) Any comment?

Also, check out the contributions on www.elec.state.nj.us ... Rodriguez - Friends and family and loan... Lester --> Fajardo and cronies...

Come on... At least fight with facts... by being dirty and lying you insult everyone's intelligence...

And that is the difference between the two camps. The Octopus attacks, lies, cheats, spies, steals, and all the other admirable political traits. Sounds like alot in the Republican party don't it?
No substance and no issues, just down in the slime lies and attacks to keep the real issues from being discussed. The Machine is usually on the defense or offense to try and clear up the muck, like Kerry vs. the Swift Boat Veterans. Politics unfortunately is usually a choice between the lesser of two evils. I'd rather have an oily Machine I have to wipe down every now and then, than a slimy toxic Octopus that only wants more and is so dirty you couldn't ever clean it.
