New Jersey shore bumper sticker disses visitors

Full story: TwinCities.com

First it was Bennies, then Shoobies. Now there's another derogatory nickname for summer tourists who visit the Jersey shore: FOOTs.

Send those tourists out here to Las Vegas.

We'll get them drunk, bloated, stuffed AND laid, before sending them home with a 'thank you' and a smile!

Funny you ask! My father came out for a recent visit from MN, and it was one of the first things he wanted to see, having already seen the other sites previously.

Always a big line outside the shop when they're filming. A lot of locals think it's all staged, I have no idea. But I have see a few people I know on that show, and they're not talking...

hey, I love that show - we really don't have a lot of Pawn Shops in NJ although AC may have one or two still left. For some reason
I have also seen them located near military bases - not sure what
the reason for that is ?

Actually, tourism may be "keeping the Jersey SHORE afloat," but the biggest industry in NJ is pharmceuticals. Just about all of the big companies in the field have HQ's, R&D and manufacturing here.

It appears that Brigantine Beach has received abundant negative publicity recently, not that it hasn't received such in the past, and deservedly so.

First, there was Mr. Storino's unfortunate and offensive comments about "out of towners", and now the repulsive bumper stickers being placed on PUBLIC and private vehicles, which provide much volatile fuel for the general public at large.

As a second BB home owner, I will not go into what we provide in the way of business and government income to the City of Brigantine Beach. That tune has been sung by many, and Brigantine Beach's government and "natives" should heed the music......

I believe that there is a compaign to create bumber stickers to be distributed throughout the State of New Jersey and elsewhere that provide the following message:

I AIN'T NO FBBR.

Use the same interpretatiive path as with those regarding FOOT, and you will understand very easily that FBBR stands for I AIN'T NO F'n Brigantine Beach redneck/retard.

We would hate to see the "out of towners" stoop to the level of the those employed by and voted into office by the City of Brigantine, but I have already seen the negative comments by inflamed and offended Americans regarding Fox's posting of the Brigantine non-shoobie's FOOT issue on the internet. Some of the comments are, amazingly, even more gross than the FOOT bumper stickers.

The greenhead flies articles placed on the internet also contribute to the negative factors and images of Brigantine Beach which affects the general public's perception of this "tiny island".

With tourism and revenue suffering throughout our State and Nation, discretion and common sense should be applied by all.

Perhaps those not welcoming the "out of towners" should consider residing elsewhere. The Jersey Pines would be a perfect location.

The Jersey Devil, the supposed mythical creature of the New Jersey Pinelands, has haunted New Jersey and the surrounding areas for the past 260 years. This entity has been seen by over 2,000 witnesses over this period. It has terrorized towns and caused factories and schools to close down, yet many people believe that the Jersey Devil is a legend, a mythical beast, that originated from the folklore of the New Jersey Pine Barrens

Life hasn't exactly been plain sailing recently but you're navigating your way through calmer waters again. In fact, you're feeling pretty sunny-tempered and relaxed, and may even wonder what all the fuss was about during the past few days. It's a great excuse to go out on the town, or to visit your favourite restaurant for a relaxing meal.
