It amazes me see how everyone bashes teenagers for makeing stupid mistakes. Yes, they did diserve what they got. What does around comes around. But,I'd like to point out everyone does stupid stuff at least once in there life. For those of you who don't know the girl's name. You must live in a hole cause they have released it. But, for all who care, I do know the girl in the car accident. I'm not makeing excuses for her actions and i do not condone them. But, she'll get the due justice. So lay off.

They died why? The stop sticks and speed and young kids being scared to death... Now we have two more because of another high speed car chase there has to be a better way...
There is, it's called a rocket propelled grenade. Then maybe these low-lifes wouldn't take things that don't belong to them

Yes she will. Tara will pay for the rest of her life. I cant believe how heartless some people can be. Its an actual proven fact(just watch Dr. Phil talk about it) that teenagers brains are not fully grown and the portion that regulates a certain area is one of the last to grow and this is the area that gives them the feeling of invincibility, etc. which helps or aids in them making these stupid mistakes. This is a proven fact according to him.
EVERYONE makes mistakes during their lifetime...thats just a fact plain and simple and I dont need Dr. Phil or anyone else to tell me that. Its a shame so many here seem to live on soap boxes and in glass houses...

looks and sounds like(thru the grapevine I hear from)the boyfriend stole the vehicle BEFORE he picked up the girl. If thats the case, then the only thing she did wrong was get to into that vehicle with him.

I completely disagree with the other Boulderite, though, who says, referring to the kid's death, "that's what you get for stealing". Perhaps this was hyperbole, but in a civilized society, that's NOT what you get for stealing. Speculate all you want about how that'd stop people from stealing, fact is it won't stop people from being dumb, being overwhelmed by irrational emotions, and making poor decisions, especially people who aren't even adults yet and are especially susceptible to states of mind incompatible with responsible driving.
Your tune will change when it's *your* son or daughter or other underage, immature family member who does something really risky and dumb and ends up severely injured or dead. People who think like you do now will be telling you your kid deserved what they got, and people who think like those you're currently critical of will be telling you what an awful parent you are for letting them get to be that age and still be making such bad decisions. What will you be saying then?
Bravo!!! thankyou.. I missed this post somehow initially. I'm so glad to see it now tho! Thankyou. It really is true and puts things in perspective I hope for some.

Yes you are an idiot!! At 17 we were all invincible. You must be some perfect angel with a shiny halo hovering above your head. The parents are NOT to blame, especially when they have done all they can, including moving out to Elizabeth to try and get their kid out of the crap in the Englewood area. They did this, and yes the parents are going to suffer, as is Tara, and as has Nick. Her parents are going to be lucky to get out of this without losing everything (monetary). They are very fortunate to not have a funeral bill in addition.

Your child has stupid friends. I wouldn't let my kid hang out with car thieves, or kids who have no respect for the law. Maybe you should get more involved with your children. Your kid is not rotten,...but could have ended up dead had he/she been with them that day....
