Maybe you missed the following quote from my original post: "I was treated like I was the scum of the earth. She was SO RUDE, I didn't even have a chance to negotiate having it removed completely from my credit report. When I asked for the Supervisor, she claimed she was the Supervisor/Owner. After 20 minutes of being interupted and spoken to in a very condescending manner, I was in tears and pushed to my own, less than congenial response and hung up."
And she is fully aware that I am a Government employee.

You know what will take your mind off a bad collection? A nice new roof from Mike's Roofing. I would like to take this time to recommend this business. They do excellent work.

My husband and I are having the same problem because of a Germany phone company as well and we're military too. I had the same issue with Aurora. Reading your message sounded like I could have wrote it myself. Wondering what Germany company it is to see if it's the same one because I've heard of many other soldiers having problems with the same company I am having problems with, Deusche Telekom. This whole situation just really irriates me, our soldiers being taken advantage like this. I feel helpless right now about it. I'm getting ready to go talk to legal myself about it.

Seeing as how you are a governmental employee it would seem that your credit concerns will be resolved, regardless. Perhaps also, you and the collector fed off of each other and each allowed the conversation to follow a less than professional direction as does happen so often in stressful situations. I'm not condoning the situation as you have written it; just saying 1)it sounds like a couple of bad days in the same call and 2) debt collectors are actual people, too.
Hope your situation ends well and Thanks for serving our beautiful country!-out
I seriously doubt this was the case, because I called in trying to resolve the same issue and we're military also. I could have wrote his discussion post pretty much word for word. I called in trying to see what was going on why we was getting this bill because when I closed the account right before leaving Germany, I made sure to go into their office and ask what the full payoff amount was and went up and paid it that day. I told the Aurora representative that and that the claim wasn't valid. I also told her I wanted proof of the bill she just argued with me that it was valid and that I needed to pay it now. This went on for quite a while. When she couldn't provide me with any proof, and she continued to be rude, I asked for a supervisor as well. She said she was. Then I told her I wanted to speak with her supervisor and she denied me that so then finally I had to hang up as well because I'm not going to sit there and have someone raise their voice at me to pay something that I know isn't legit.

It's pretty pathetic that these henchmen for this German telephone company have no remorse. Apparently the Germans are still mad about the war in the forties because I too paid my bill in full before leaving only to receive notification that I owed money and that my credit was to be affected. When I spoke to the rude "lady" at Aurora she said I was on a "late billing cycle" (whatever that is) and became quite rude. Not only are these goons at Aurora out to help soldiers get screwed, but then they have the audacity to masquerade on this forum as happy customers?

Did anyone ever have any luck with their IG or JAG offices with this issue? I too experienced the headache of dealing with Aurora. The ONLY blemish on my record, and this Telekom debt made my credit score drop from 770 to 666! I sent the collection agency copies of emails from DT that my account was closed, the amount owed, and bank statements proving payment.

I received only one notice from them, claiming it was a 'final' notice, to which I promptly responded with proof of paid bills, but they still mangled my credit score and claimed they had sent other notices...

I am going to file a complaint against them through this web site:

as well as consulting both my local JAG office and the JAG office in Heidelberg. Will update with any information as I get it.

Very sad to see this happening systematically to troops and their families.

Dirt bags just like the rest of em. Paid the bill to the client and three years later never took it off my credit report. These pussies have no teeth. Only thing they'll try to do is damage your credit report. Lawsuit in the works. They work out of an apartment building by Denver University. Amateurs.

This lady that answers the phone is a horrible person. She spoke to me as if I were an idiot. She prefaced her threat to have me arrested with "this is not a threat" -way to go lady. I guess she really knows the law. Fact is, she is a bottom feeder. Bleeding the poor and middle class. Way to go lady.

I have worked with this company in several ways for years. Their recovery rates are one of the highest in the state, and their complaints are the lowest. I have found them to always be highly professional, courteous, and have a profound respect and understanding for our U.S. soldiers overseas, as well as local customers fallen on hard times. Many of their clients are gained via word-of-mouth, and some of those have once been ACB debtors themselves! If you have to deal with a collection agency, I couldn't think of a better one to be stuck talking to.
You are a horrible person. Please go away

William, you sound like someone getting paid to advertise for the company and try to do damage control. You "found out" about your bill? You didn't KNOW you had a bill with them? Do you sleep walk and sign contracts with phone companies? I'm raising the BS flag on this one! You don't just "find out" you have a bill. You either incurred it or you didn't. I also think you're full of it because every single post I've read anywhere on the net that obviously isn't someone just trying to make the company look better, says that they're horrible and difficult to work with. Maybe you should have written that junk a little better, because I can see right through it. You're probably on their payroll or an employee. Well get this, the vets who serve our nation deserve better than this crap and it's Aurora that is trying to HELP the GERMAN government SCREW our soldiers! It's ungrateful pricks like you that don't deserve the rewards that soldier's sacrifices paid for. As far as I'm concerned, you're a traitor and so is this Aurora company. It's a good thing this is a free country because if it was up to me, traitors would be lined up against a concrete wall and DEALT with.
You sir, are a moron. Have a wonderful day.

This company is one of the worst they do not work with you in anyway. Same instance german phone company billed me for 10000 dollars for internet service while i was in Iraq and they refuse to make a settlement. So best thing to do wait five years and it will come off your report even if you still havent paid it. TKS sucks
Didn't know that! Good to know.. I'll share the word.

Actually for a collection agency I really enjoyed working with them (odd I know). I don't know if they hired new people but they were really nice every time I talked to them, explained everything to me in detail, and deleted the debt completely off my credit report. Now, it's a collection agency people are going to dislike them because they signed contracts and incurred debt that they don't want to (or don't believe they should) pay...but I specifically came onto the interwebz just to praise this company. I was pleasantly surprised with the entire process. I don't have contact with collection agencies hardly ever (I'm 33 and this is my 3rd time ever) and the other 2 I worked with in years past were impossible in every way shape and form. I'm really shocked to see all the negative comments associated with this company. I'm not an employee of this company nor do I have any affiliation with them I was overly happy with my experience that I just had to come say thanks for helping me figure out my debt and treating me like a human being!
