Clemency For DC Sniper?

It's a shame for John Allen Muhummad, that the law doesn't allow him to appeal to the president for his clemency from execution. If that were allowed, I'm sure he'd be granted clemency, maybe even a pardon, from Barrack Obama.

I really have no solid stance on capital punishment. Killing them costs more but depending on how long he lives.....he could be mental, I mean most people I think are that can do these things unless that is just my justification...I just don't know...

He is gone though and I hope the people that are friends and family of the victims or even just where scared to get gas gain something tangable and can move a bit in the right direction. Closure is non-existent when you love but baby steps help you move toward some peace... I wish that with everything for the victims kin and kindred.

What is really offensive about John Muhammed is that he was even walking the streets to commit these murders...
During his tour in the first Gulf War, Muhammed tossed a grenade into the barracks where 16 of his fellow soldiers slept...He was NEVER prosecuted for this crime, and the incident was swept under a rug...
Now we have yet another extremist muslim in custody for the murderous act of terrorism committed at Ft. Hood...Like Muhammed, the military KNEW of his affiliations and intentions, yet did NOTHING...We're hearing stories from his past acquaintances, his superiors, co-workers, and friends which all seem to confirm that people KNEW he was going to commit "Jihad"...We're hearing how the FBI knew of his tyrannical writings in the internet, his connections to the 9/11 terrorists, and his less than stellar performance history in the military...
So explain to me why this fucking jerk was even allowed to breathe the same air as our troops, let alone serve as an Officer in OUR military...
He should have faced dishonorable discharge a long time ago, and his affiliations should have warranted a much deeper investigation, especially when he was vetted for promotion to Major...
Seems to me that there's much, much more to this story that we're not being told...
This notion that we have to be "Politically Correct" and tip-toe around the "feelings" of others is what has to stop...Personally, I don't give two shits if I hurt the feelings of some asshole whose sole intent is to kill Americans...
The ONLY thing that has come of this "Political Correctness" is a bunch of thin-skinned pussies who believe they're entitled to have their way, that they should be protected from criticism, and that they're somehow "special" because of some fucked up "Hate Crime" laws that serve them more than they do any other "victim"...

I've said it before, but I'll repeat it again...

I remember my brother talked about how he would keep moving around out of fear of being sniped while pumping gas during this time. DC and VA were very much on edge with these dirtbags on the loose.

REgarding the death penalty, I hope it stays around for several reasons. 1) Revenge and punishment justice as closure for society and victims/family: there are some crimes that I've researched that are so cruel I can't allow myself to think about them. Society hasn't a clue what some evil, soul-less bastards are capable of. 2) protection of the living: if they kill an inmate or prison employee, that's a life that could have been saved by executing them in the first place 3) deterrent: I have to hope that having a death penalty has prevented planned homicides

While I agree with your position on the Death Penalty, we have to see these incidents for what they really are - Acts of TERRORISM...
That being said, you could sentence these sick fucks to 1,000 deaths and they will welcome them all...Why?...Because their fanatical, misguided sense of significance to "Allah" leads them to believe that their suffering and death will somehow earn them favor...
How should we handle these bastards?...It's simple, kill them on sight...No Court Martials or Trials, no media attention for them or their cause, just blow their fucking brains out...
If that doesn't discourage them, bring on the nukes...Their antics and deadly hissy fits are old...
