I would love to see that come to pass… But as it stands right now there is nothing as efficient and cost effective as oil and gas… Our government has been trying to FORCE a market that doesn’t exist, at a HUGE cost to taxpayers and consumers and the companies are going and have gone bankrupt. These are facts.
The person who finds the next best, efficient, and cheap energy source will be (and you’ll hate this) richer than any man or woman ever has been on this earth… BUT frankly, it’s not now and green energy in its current state is less than a joke.
Are we all from Colorado here?

If so we are living in what I consider the most beautiful state in the nation excluding Alaska and Hawaii. We also have the most oil shell in the world, huge deposits of coal, and unknown to most, vast deposits of high grade oil. Potentially the Grand Mesa may be holding enough oil to totally devastate that wonderful place. The largest mesa in the world boasting between two and three HUNDRED lakes. I've fished in over 25 of them. Lands end drive!!! If you guys are from here you know this road:):) When you turn on to lands end road from the paved road the first lake there is called "Dog fish lake" and used to be full of dog fish. They are a small fish that walks out of the water and does ??? something??:):) I have some pictures of them sitting on some rocks and just sunning:):)

And that's the point. If we do not look for another energy source we might as well have stayed with the whale oil.The first Lithium batteries sucked at energy storage but with millions of dollars of R&D it is now the best battery at energy storage. From this post of your you would be happy having a laptop computer or cell phone with 10 minuets of battery run time using old lead acid or alkaline batteries. Well I guess if you were calling the shots it would be candles and whale oil.
You miss my point… First let me ask you… Was it government that developed the lithium battery? How about oil development? Not so much…
My point is like with green energy, the government is THE MOST inefficient and wasteful way to find new energies. This is proven with the massive gas and oil restrictions and massive government spending in green companies that are now bankrupt. Forcing the market doesn’t work even they try to scare people with the fallacy of human caused global warming.

How would you feel if that new energy source was invented by a communist making China home to the richest person in the world?
I am the one saying we need to keep looking for new better energy sources. A mix of many new energy sources would be the best way to go. The more green energy or energy savings with more energy efficiency in appliances and lighting would also help.
Not to long ago natural gas turbine generator efficiency was less than coal fired today gas turbine efficiency is double that of coal.

We already are paying more because of restrictions, Obama just raised everyone’s taxes, and the cost of goods are directly realated to high energy costs… We have paid enough.

As we sit here bitc*i*g about the government, big buisness, oil companies, and so forth we act as if we don't know what the actual problem is.

US!!!

I have a 50cc motor bike (from China) that gets over 100 MPG.(I didn't say this because you would never believe me but I got 200 MPG one month this summer) At 100 MPG and an efficient engine that I can breath the exhaust I put less junk in the air than horse shi*-poop. The thing is the most comfortable thing I have ever driven. Going down hill one day a cop pulled up next to me and said I was doing 65 MPH. He was laughing so hard he could hardly talk. On the level areas I go 40 to 45 MPH and up hill 25 MPH.(if there is a long 10 - 12% grade I might as well walk but I have not come to a single one yet) The best part is that it requires no license, license plates, no insurance, nothing! Just like a bike. I can carry home SIX BAGS OF GROCERIES!!! And my 80 year old mother can drive it.

WHAT THE HELL ARE ALL THESE SUV's FOR??? If you want one fine. Get a bike like the one I have to use around town and your giant SUV for occasions you will need it.

Depending on a persons fitness my kind of bike can be ridden year round excluding days that the roads are snowy.

You want to talk about energy use I think we should all start with ourselves first!!!

??? I didn't get this at all! What are you talking about?

I want people to be more efficient with their energy use. If people would be responsible and see a problem when it is there, then do something on their own to help fix the problem, the government wouldn't have to invade our lives.

Of course this is never going to happen. As things get worse the government will HAVE to intrude in our lives. When pollution gets so bad in the cities that it is beyond exceptable living requirements you won't be able to drive your car down town any more. You are making your own Socialist state!

I realize that you are an oppositional person. Like a teenager you will take an opposite side to most anything said. I'm not saying that is bad. When conversation gets bogged down sometimes a person that can bring in a little opposition will stimulate it. But when opposition gets silly it has gone to far. Your last reply made no sense.

Have you been there recently? Everything has been closed off. They put a few of those "camp & pay" areas in where you have to camp right next to each other.

If they are trying to keep it pristine that is ok. I don't think so!!! I think that if I hike back in to some of the areas I used to go to I am going to find oil derricks.

What do you think?

Sorry I left out letters. The sentence shout have read, " Do you want your mother to get warm with wood and live in a cave?"

I'm not being oppositional just to be so, I am asking you the question why does government need to be involved in the business of energy? Who are they that they know exactly what energy to regulate and what energy to invest in? Obviously they haven't a clue based on the waste they have caused investing in green (and now bankrupt companies) and regulating oil and gas causing prices to go extremely high for consumers. So why do you believe that government knows best?

Why do you believe "us" to be the problem of energy use?

Other than government (because of the mess they have made recently) in you opinion, what would be a real solution?

Proud of yourself I guess. The Communist rears it's ugly head! Makes as much sense as what you said.
I can make it from one end of this town to the other faster during rush hour than you can. I got a nice big beautiful Aurora for the times I need it but I enjoy my 50cc bike even more than the luxury.

I'm sorry for whatever happened to turn you into a Capitalist show off that can't read or ride a small motor bike. If onlt you could read I said the bike was for "Around town" and I didn't mean Georgetown!!!

Do you go around dissing posts because your out of gas money? Or just because you are jealous of someone that can stay up on two wheels?

Every fu*k*** time I write a really long post something happens to it and it doesn't get posted. I might have gone over the limit?

I'll never get it down as good as I just did. Everything flowed perfectly and you would have completly understood where I am comeing from.

ARGG!!! SH*T!!! I am a writer. I have many publications including a book. This was the best I have ever written my beliefs ever!!!
