I'm so happy WeTheSheeple found a lifemate. He's wrong about needing a divorce to marry a woman in Michigan; they don't recognize his marriage. So? Nothing prevented me from going to Massachusettes to get married, just like millions of other people have done. Yes, Michigan refuses to recognize my legal marriage for state benefits (for now), but that doesn't change the simple fact that I'm legally married to another man. Interesting bit of hypocrisy- even though Michigan doesn't recognize my marriage for state benefits, if I wanted to marry a woman in Michigan, I'd have to get a divorce first! So it turns out they DO indeed recognize my marriage.
But if it makes him feel better, I'll recognize it and send congratulations. There's no need to change marriage law for everyone else.
