I am the Director of the Volunteer Mobile Emergency Response Unit which is a rehab unit for police,fire and ems to use during long lasting incidents. Our rural departments here in Caldwell County are struggling, too. Apparently they have asked the county to increase their contributions, and are battling with people stealing their trucks and joyriding. Please, if you can, support these guys - they do what they do for free, and depend on our financial contributions to protect us.
