Do NOT work here unless you love long hours outdated equipment and being treated like absolute sh*t

There are some people working here who are required to come in @ 7 am & then can ASK to leave at 9 pm, they refuse to pay OT & there is no comp time, the building is old & leaks, they refuse to run the AC during the afternoon, it's common to be getting ready to leave and be assigned work, the mgr knowing full well that you're walking out the door, that HAS to be done right then and there

The pay is way below market average & there are no raises/bonuses

I have never in the past 13 years of IT work been in any place as bad as this

dont believe the above comment. There are always people who say that from every company in existence. I have worked here since 1989, and find it a decent place to work.

Best company to work for, if

- Money is never a requirement for you.
- You have no interaction with your family.
- You work for your own satisfaction and do not require any kind of recognition.
- You kind of don't like weekends
- You like to report to a bunch of doted lines, which all leaded to some m*r*ns.
- You love sports, golf, happy hours, so you can kiss up to your management.
- You are good at providing lip service.

Just ran across your post. Blythewood is a great place to live. As far as CSC...I don't know much but have only heard good things about the company. If you're moving here you can find real estate listings at www.huntllc.com or Google "huntllc blythewood"

You must have left on bad terms? You sound like a very angry employee, Maybe it's a good thing you do not work for CSC anymore.

How are the working conditions now? I want to become a computer programmer here and seriously thinking about applying. Can a current employee provide some feedback? How is the oncall? Work load? Annual salary for 4+ years experience? Vacation/Sick leave? Performance raise? The managers?(03.08.11)

Nope left on good terms & they asked me repeatly not to leave, but for the low pay & long hours I decided to to leave, some good people there but when management there goes as far as to micromange what shoes you wear, come on....hope they at least the run the AC there now
I'm going to assume you're in mgmt there since you're defending them so much, all I can say is good luck to you on crushing the works souls & thankfully all my former coworkers got the hell out of that hole where you got screwed on pay like an Indian sweat shop

Worked at CSC for 5 years in the UK. Full of middle managers who like to say "you do not have to be technical to be a manager"
If you enjoy interesting work and learning new skills I'd advise to stay well clear. If you enjoy licking sh!t then maybe it's for you.
P.S the BAE staff called them C**TS Servicing Computers, that's how highly CSC are regarded by their customers, I wont mention what the NHS call them.

That guy, Larry Wilson, was the owner and founder of PMS/PMSC/Mynd, the insurance-based software company based in Blythewood that CSC purchased and absorbed in the early 2000s. I suppose the chills could be from the memories of stock dumping when the company turned south before he sold it. Anyway, I certainly wouldn't consider him a reliable source for a review, in any case.

I worked for CSC for 10 years. It was the absolute worst employer by far, that I have every worked for in my career. The only reason I stuck it out is because we all were allowed to work remotely. Consider yourself lucky if you have a decent job at CSC. The majority of the people I knew hated it. Many left and many were laid off eventually. These were all highly skilled people. I will never tolerate the treatment I got when I was at CSC. I also witnessed alot of my peers who were treated like sh*t during their service at CSC. Never again. I go out of my way to warn people about CSC's work culture. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
