That's her defense? She was untrained as a bookkeeper? What a load of bull****! Where's the $85000.00? Sounds like she knew exactly what she was doing.

What gaul! Still denying it. She should fess up and cut a plea deal. She is trying to avoid jail time, and she might not get it if a lenient judge. The right thing to do is to recognize that what she did is illegal, i.e. stealing. Her lawyer said someone else must have done it. What a joke.

what a dumb attorney. She is the president and secretary of the Pilipino club yet she is not well versed in bookkeeping. Nice try by the scumbag JD

You have got to be kidding me! Hmmm. Stealing from the church? Oh sister you got some nerve. Shame on you! Don't play the ignorant card with us. No tears. It won't work. Not everyone is gullible.

Well, Feldhacker, she is the only one that handled the money. Then she wrote checks to herself. If she was too bonehead to take a deal, so be it. Stealing is bad, but from the church? Very low.

If she didn't do it, then where is the money. Evidence showed she transferred money between the accounts, if she has receipts for items that needed to be purchased for the club and church, then produce that and it might explain. I think she used the money for personal gain.
Hope she will ask God for forgiveness.

I can't believe how dumb the Catholic Church is. You never let ONE PERSON handle donations. I can't see why the church has all kinds of problems. What the bookkeeper is wrong but what the Church did is just plain dumb and a disservice to the members of the church.

Unfortunately not all employees that steal get caught! Some of these employees go from company to company and steal thousands of dollars and move on. I had a former employee who stole from me, I reported it to HPD and the detective said he was 99.9% positive that this person stole but we didn't have enough evidence. After she left my company, she went to work for a big local company that sold phones, internet etc and she had access to many personal records such as ssn, account numbers, DOB etc. Pretty scary. Major identity theft waiting to happen. I later found out the company she was working for prior to my company was a victim of her stealing. Hopefully one day she will get caught!
