If it were Four Hills, Tanoan, etc.--- ya better believe Marty or the County would have fixed it a month ago. Within a week of the first brown water occurring.

Granted the pipes, the system is probably much older there, but this is just awful!

Finally there is publicity! South Valley, keep up the outcry!
Now that everyone knows about this, let's see how long it takes to fix these folks' water.

The City does add little chlorine to the water, but I wouldn't drink it either. Even the hippies at the Rainbow Gathering were filtering their mountain spring water for kitchen cleanups. Geeze, let's see how long the would-be fourth termer takes to fix this, now that it's been exposed.

It's already been going on nearly six weeks!

Brown water can be caused by an animal called isopod crustaceans or otherwise known in the South West as rolly pollys. They can live in the fresh tap water pipes undetected. The result of the excrement of these creatures is very brown water. Though it is not a health threat it is unbecomely when one is confronted with using this water as drinking water. How to combat and eliminate the problem? Flood the effected area with CO2 ( carbon dioxide ).Perfomed by experts in the cities across Europe. Not harmful to the environment and doesn't even kill the critters just elimintes the result of their waste. With this said, bona appetite.

More likely the pipes are running through City Hall, and picking up the "brown" there.

River water downstream from the waste water plant, nothing more, nothing less.

Boil it then drink it and stop worrying.

This is truly a disgrace.....South Valley or not. It's also a disgrace that some folks believe, just because this is the poorest part of the county, that they somehow deserve this... just wrong.

The truth about our city's water is that there is an abundance of estrogen and acetaminophen in our water. The levels are so high the city won't even talk about it. Women take birth control pills on a daily basis. Everyone takes tylenol and ibuprophen. All of these chemicals excrete into our urine and then end up in our water!

This is a function of the government via the taxes South Valley residents pay.
They deserve and rightfully demand clean water and effective sewage.

My water's been brown for the last week or two. It also tastes bad. My suspicion is that Mayor Marty's Magic Mud Filters for our new supply of water from the Rio Rancho sewage outlet have failed and they're directing it all to the South Valley (where we can't vote him out of office) rather than mixing it in with well water in a 20/80 mix for the whole city as they claim.

After 6 weeks they don'y have any lab reports or chromatography to identify the pollutant? Incredible incompetence. I suspect that they know what it is but they're afraid to say.

Dissolved air. It happens a lot in the Summer. I wouldn't sweat it as long as the water is clear and colorless after it sets for a while.

Daily Horoscope for November 15

Taurus

The Moon moves through your seventh house of marriage and partnerships, helping you make a fresh start in important relationships. This may be painful as stern Saturn and obstructive Pluto complicate matters; you may have difficulty accepting certain changes within yourself or someone you love. Some of you may also be in conflict with a parent; try to step back and see the great cycle of life.
