Elbridge home assessments hit the roof
Monday, April 06, 2009 at 5:47 p.m. The letters started arriving last week. For the first time in five years, Elbridge residents would be getting the assessment on their home from the town, and many of them were not happy with the numbers they got.

What happened in Elbridge is a NYS wide epidemic. Property owners need to stand up and impose their will. How, do not be intimidated. After a revaluation it is the ideal time to file a grievance and appeal your assessment. Especially in a time when property values have plummeted.
This is the third municipality that has chosen to do a revaluation and utilize sales date from peak market periods. They according to ORPS (Office of Real Property Services)are allowed to work one year in arrears.
