Case was dismissed from what this article says: http://www.newstrump.com/dr-maurice-wolin/

I agree. Check out post #10171. |

If you read the rest of the broken English article it becomes clear that the word, "not," was accidentally omitted from the first sentence. Also note they erroneously have a photo of Steven Benoff and not Maurice Wolin.--not a reliable source--- |

not likely. |

1 Did a kindergartener write this article? |

I know this is scraping for news (Yahoo Answers)and the author is another kindergartener, but it does provide a plausible explanation as to where Berk was/is trying to take the "hard drive issue": The prosecution have admitted that the laptop hard drive that recordered the original chats has been thrown away by the 'Perverted Justice' TV crew. The copy of the chat logs provided to the police and DA, and through them to the defense, contains several gaps. "Perverted Justice" claims that theree was no chat during these gaps. Dr. Wolin claims the gaps contains chat in whichh the decoy, Xavier von Erck, admitted to just being 'role-playing' at being a minor, and that Wolin went to the house expetcing to meet an adult 'playing at' being a teen.) What's the deal with Sonoma County? In addition to the Wolin and Cheema cases, six of the last ten D.A. news releases -- including the last four in a row -- involve sexual offenses.

I had posted this previously in regards to the impact on the neighbors of having a sting house in the 'hood. It makes me wonder also if Santa Rosa has a reputation for pervs: GonzoBuggs says... October 7, 2009 4:17:23 pm Right, that's why I'm saying that they should have filmed in Santa Rosa. There are plenty of pervs close by and none would have to commute. That house was sold immediately after. The people who bought it were involved in the SWAT action 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, the inconsiderate ass who had originally owned the house did no favors for the neighborhood. I was personally livid that he enabled the luring of perverts from all over the Bay Area to within a block of my children. Then he turns around and has a fire sale because, first, everyone in the neighborhood despises him and, second, perverts kept coming around. Now we end up with new neighbors who require the services of our SWAT team. Perfect. |

SO, I bet if you type in that zip code on any sex offender site there are dozens of sex offenders that live right in your neighborhood already. I don't believe any pervert from outside your community would "Come around". They would avoid that street like a plague. So your peeved neighbors forced out the homeowner because they all despised him. Well looks like the new owners were a step up. NOT! As said many times "be careful what you wish for". Looks like the neighbors went from bad to worse.

I can see where that would be kind of a rude thing to do to the neighbors. But the police don't really need a house or dwelling for this sort of sting. Any public place will do - like a park or a parking lot. I guess they need a house to hide the cameras and add a little drama.

I think the SWAT operation to which the blogger refers was not part of a sting per se. It so happens whoever bought that house might be doing something naughty. BTW, I, too am wondering if "Bob" was picked up on a PJ sting. Either that or he's working for Berk and was told to, "knock it off". |

I miss all the sock puppets.
Maybe one of us should create a new persona -- say, a "13-year old" girl that is trolling the internet for tall, dreamy, middle-aged, balding guys with poor decision making abilities. On the other hand, as macabre as this may be, maybe Wolin hung himself. How long would it take for anyone to miss him? Sadly, I think the answer may be measured in weeks -- probably after he fails to make prompt payment on his next legal bill. |

Surprising development in the Roman Polanski (the European version of Wolin) case. A Swiss Court has done the unthinkable and granted him bail. He's putting up in the neighborhood of about $4.5 million.
Now, I'm thinking that whoever made that decision is either a) living on another planet or b) is counting on improving the court's coffers when Polanski runs like a rabbit back to France. Hey, the court will get a free $4.5 million dollar payday, albeit with a bit of a scolding from the U.S. for letting him get away yet again. Polanski will be happy, he'll be back home screwing his babelicious wife, with still millions left over and he'll never be leaving France again. I figure Polanski will stay in Switzerland per his bail conditions until his appeals for extradition are exhausted and the minute they are......gone!(back to France that is). |

Money really does make a big difference in the justice system. It's problematic, but I've come to believe that competent defense is the entitlement, which doesn't rule out really fancy, delay-driving, expert-retaining, expensive defenses available to the wealthy. It's still smelly though |
