If you miss it, you can always see it in that John Cusack movie about the hotel room.

Too bad, they should have let it, and the whole city shut down. Hermosa is so inconsequential to the South bay.

Once a postal clerk told me that po box rental fees were a money makers for the post offices. One would think the the postal officals would pack the post offices with po boxes then.

Also to ease the burden on the service counters, post offices should have a "self-service" area ... place to weight postal items and to purchase postage. That area available 24/7. At the Albertsons market 1/2 block from the North Redondo post office, there are 4 self-service checkout stands which are constantly used. Either stand in line for a clerk, or use the
self-service ..... a noval idea which should be incorporated into the postal system.

ok folks, every time the postal service is browbeaten by local politicians to keep redundant branches open, your first class postage rate is going to increase more often. Thanks Hermosa Beach politicos for keeping your run down, rarely used post office open. The rest of us will enjoy paying higher postage rates and we will think of you with fondness. Not!!!

What terrible experience have you had that makes you dislike a community so bad? Why do you care if they exist or not? Even if they were to be annexed into another city, what does that change? The residents and businesses will still be taxed, likely more than now, to maintain the services of whomever annexed it. Your logic doesn't make any sense or cents ($) If you don't like Hermosa, dont go there, you will not be missed.

Like most people, I pay most of my bills online. I probably go to the HB post office (or any post office) 3 or 4 times a year. Times are tough for everyone...ever city. Although I have found the postal service to be very good at what they do, I question how truly important having a post office really is....we are a small town. Someone needs to step up and tighten their belt.

Someone tell me why we need a post office in HB. Would we really lose our sense of pride? I'm hoping someone can do this will yelling and berating me.

Thanks,
Steve King

Quite a few have that, including the Redondo PO. You can also do everything online except buy a money order, but that's what 7-11 is for.

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Cancer

Take it easy today, or the most insignificant things will get you down in no time. A difficult letter in the post, or a tricky conversation with a loved one, will sink your spirits down to your ankles. Ugh. Life is not as tough as it seems right now, so keep reminding yourself that we can choose to feel better. A bar of delicious chocolate, or a tasty savoury snack might help a little, too...
